(Ya know that one memory? The one about a Yiga Clan attack? This is just a rewrite of that memory, with extra stuff for  S P I C E)

Zelda had just gotten out of a meeting with Urbosa. What were they talking about? Despite telling everyone it was about politics and a trade route, it wasn't about either of those things. Lets just say they were talking about a... certain gay friend's pinning. And a little on how to not tell people that their meetings weren't actually that commonly for "important" stuff.

They found their friend's happiness to be important, but it's not like the king would accept that reasoning for their "important meetings."

They didn't know where Link was, but they knew he was somewhere near the town. Zelda and Urbosa had been teaching him Hylian Sign, and he had clearly practiced with it, as he managed to sign that he would be "around," wherever that meant.

But anyways, back to the moment, where Zelda was freaking terrified.

She was surrounded by 3 Yiga Clan members who looked very much like they were going to kill her for whatever reason. Her being the royal daughter? Her connection to Link? Zelda didn't know but she didn't care at the moment. There were Yiga Clan members who were known to be deadly right in front of her.

She regretted telling Urbosa that she should be fine for just the walk to the oasis.

One of them walked closer, holding his whatever-that-is weapon above his head to strike, when suddenly, Link came out of no where.

Zelda had never been so thankful for Link appearing out of no where. A lot of the time, it had startled her, but now? She was grateful for it.

Sure, this added even more onto that question of "how the flip does he just appear like that" since there weren't any hiding spots nearby(not any that anyone could just appear from, that is), but that just made it more... something.

She was cut, excuse my pun, out of her thoughts when Link started moving again, breaking the main attacker's whatever-weapon. She never bothered to learn what they were called, she just knew that it wasn't some common farmer's scythe. Link forced the Yiga back a few steps, then... pulled a purple thing into view on his wrist?

The Yiga freaking startled????? At whatever the purple thing was???????

Then the attackers just turned around and ran.

The Yiga, a clan full of assassins, ran like they were bokoblins being chased by bees. Because of a little purple thing that Zelda couldn't even really see what was.

She decided to add a few new things to her mental "What in the Triforce was that, Link?????" list as Link checked her over. He didn't have the purple thing still in view, but she just figured it was up under his sleeve somewhere. But her new additions to her mental list, the one before mentioned, are as follows.

Link is not likely hiding behind stuff before he chooses to appear.

Link's way of suddenly appearing isn't known to the Yiga, as they seemed surprised at how he appeared in front of her.

Link can freaking terrify the Yiga with a purple thing that he showed off on his wrist.

Zelda felt numb as she let Link check her over, even though she knew she wasn't hurt. She could have died if Link didn't appear. Maybe the king would let her actually train in fighting now... Then she realized that because Link wasn't there at the start, it wasn't a good idea to use the encounter as a reason she should get to learn how to fight.

Oh well, she could see if Urbosa would secretly train her some.

Zelda's sure that if she asked, Urbosa would be glad to train her, but she may have to explain why she never learned before. Urbosa already hated the king, hence why she was teaching Zelda how to hurt feelings without anyone realizing in political settings, so it would just give her even more reason. Oh well.

Link finished his check over and held out his hand to Zelda. She took it.

She knew she could technically ask Link to teach her how to fight, but his fighting style is just... different. Everyone who knew this could then easily tell that it was Link who trained her, while if she trained with Urbosa, they would only know that a proper fighter taught her. Plus Link was still learning sign, and it would be a lot harder to learn from a person who wouldn't speak with their voice.

It normally wouldn't be a bad thing, but when it comes to training, it's better to hear stuff. Can't sign well with your hand on your weapon, after all.

Zelda got up, and then started walking to the oasis with Link behind her.

The walk was silent, as they both knew that she was thankful.

They didn't need words to know.
