On this note, I suspect that Dark/Lunar will be like a second mother hen(if you see gempa as a mother hen) of the elements mainly because going by the big bang theory, darkness existed before everything and though life exists now, the darkness present from before the big bang is still present with us i.e space*.
There is also the fact that while some feel afraid of darkness, there are those who find comfort in it
Going by this logic, to have Dark/Lunar be one of the protective ones and to be the most comforting presence(at least to those who don't fear darkness) among the elements would be very fitting for this element
*Space isn't naturally colourful, it's pitch black and the colours we see in those satellite photos is because the device being used to capture those photos has been designed to reveal the hidden colours to our eyes or at least that is what I've read
