I could feel someone tightly holding my hand as I start to come back to my senses. Despite the lightness I felt in my head, I start to recall what had happened before I passed out.
I had been bitten by a wolf on that very same leg, but I don't recall passing out due to the pain when that happened - I still passed out, but it was mainly due to blood-loss.
But I couldn't possibly have lost too much blood with this injury. Maybe the lack of movement had lessen my resistance of pain.
I open my eyes slightly, squinting at the bright light before groaning and closing my eyes again.
"Anna? You're awake?" I voice says, relief evident in the tone. I nod - regretting it immediately as my head begins to spin. "You're awake!" The voice exclaims. "She's awake!" He yells.
I hear footsteps coming near me and soon I feel someone physically pull my eyelids open and flash a really bright light in my eyes. "Follow the light please." The man holding my eyes open tells me as he moves the light to the right.
Instead of doing what the man said, I raised my arms up and pulled his hand away so I could close my eyes. I repeatedly blink before pushing myself to a sitting position.
"No, Anna, they need to make sure you're okay." I hear someone say. I turn my head to face Harry, his eyes showing concern but something inside me told me that I needed to be angry with him.
After all, he did brush me off when Charlotte had come in.
I scoffed, pulling my hand away from his and moving to remove the blanket placed over my legs. I see that my entire thigh was wrapped in a white bandage and I felt myself sadden at the spot.
A war is about to erupt and I'm injured before it even begins.
"What? So I can entertain you again. No, thank you." I bite, moving my legs over the bed and grabbing the long blanket with me to hide my legs from the people inside the room.
I spot a dress already laid out by the closet, and I go for it, not caring if it was intended for me or not, I just wanted to be more covered.
Harry noticed my limping, immediately going to my side and placing an arm around my waist to help me walk.
I let a breath hiss through my clenched teeth as I sent my elbow to his side. It wasn't enough to hurt him, but enough to let him get the message and make him take a step back.
"I'm just trying to help." He says, clearly annoyed.
I roll my eyes at him. "I don't need your help." I say, getting the clothes and wobbling my way into a different room - fortunately enough, it was a bathroom.
I change out of the shirt I wore, which was Harry's still, and carefully changed into the dress. It was hard when I was only standing on one leg, but leaning against the sink helped a little bit too.
I sighed once I was dress, undoubtedly the laces on the back were placed in all the wrong places, but I didn't really pay mind to it anymore.
I opened to door that lead back into the room, surprised to see that it was now empty except for a guard and Harry.
"What do you want?" I snapped at him.
"You didn't have breakfast and you slept right through lunch." His eyebrows furrowing in concern. "You didn't get dinner last night either - when was the last time you ate?" He questions me.
I look away. I didn't even notice the hunger anymore. I had grown so used to it my entire life that it just seemed so normal for my stomach to be growling.
"My family and Charlotte's family are having dinner as we speak, we're going to join them." Harry says and he nods at the guard.
The man immediately walks towards me. I don't waver on where I stood, instead, I glared up at the man, daring him to try something. He actually falters, his step lagging a little as if he was suddenly double thinking his decision.
He was right next to me when he spoke. "I have my orders." He says before mumbling a short "sorry" and lifting me up before I could do anything.
"What the fuck?" I yell as I scrambled to move out of the man's hold but he tightens his grip on my back and knees. "Let me down! Harry, what the hell!" I shout.
The guard walks over to Harry who was trying not to smile. "You didn't want me touching you, and the dinning hall is too far for you to walk there with an injured leg." He shrugs as if having a guard carry me was the perfect solution.
I glared at him before attempting to launch and claw his eyes out. Harry's eyes widen as he took a step back just in time to avoid my hands.
"I hate you." I say to him, eyes narrowed into slits. "I hate you so goddamn much."
His face falls and his shoulders slouch before turning around and heading for the door. "I used to hate you too." He mumbles.
The guard follows behind Harry, leaving me no choice but to stay and be carried.
I glared at Harry's back all the while, hoping that maybe if I glared hard enough it would literally burn a hole right through his head.
We entered the dining hall, all eyes turning to face us. Both kings' eyes and Charlotte's mother's widens. The queen, Harry's mother, smiles as both Charlotte and Gemma glared.
But what terrified me the most was the way Louis had smirked.
I begin to curse out all the gods as the guard places me down on an empty chair next to Louis, Harry immediately sitting down next me.
Louis didn't waste time in placing his hand on my uninjured thigh and bringing his mouth to my ear. "You're always in Harry's bed, aren't you? You must be good." He chuckles, causing my to grab his hand from my thigh and pinch the back of it so hard he yelps.
"Care to tell us why you've brought a lowlife whore to the table, son?" The king glared at Harry and I was tempted to throw the entire plate of potatoes in the king's direction.
Harry begins to explain, but I see two people walk through the door and I block his voice out. Charles came in first, followed by Liam who immediately locks eyes with me.
There was a glint there of both excitement and fear. The mixture of those two emotions being visible in his eyes made the message clear as spring water: whatever they had planned to start a war - they're doing it now.
I straighten up in my seat as Liam approached me, a bottle of wine at hand as he reaches over me to fill my glass. His lips brush against my ear as he whispered a warning. "Sneak out as soon as you can."
My heart thunders in my chest at his words and I warily watch him as he goes around serving the others more wine.
Charles comes into view as he sets down a plate full of whatever the chef had made and I can see the queen's eyes widen at the sight of him. She moves to stand up, but suddenly Charlotte's mother gasps, and I can see the queen close her eyes as if silently praying.
The other queen stands up immediately, moving towards Charles who looked like he knew this would happen.
"Will? William, it's you, isn't it?" The whole table is silent as they all looked on at Charlotte's mother holding Charles head in her hands.
I see Liam signaling me to take off and I subtly try to stand from my chair.
Louis doesn't notice, but Harry does. His jaw tenses but does nothing but tighten his hands on the arms of the chair.
I was by Liam's side already and he grabs my arm, slowly leading me towards the kitchen as whatever war they planned begins to launch.
I freeze in my spot however, when I hear Charles speak. "Yes, mother. It's me."
