I was smiling reading the comments (I always do bc I love u guys and ya'll so sweet) so yeah here's the surprise.
This chapter doesn't really affect the plot much but this will probably be the last chapter without drama or a plot twist in it lol okay I'm not even kidding.
Beware it contains awkward harry in it.
______________
I stare at the little girl, her blue eyes telling me exactly who she is, but why she was staring at me and sitting on my bed, I didn't know.
"Hello?" I greet, but it sounds more like a question.
"Hi." She says back, folding her legs to get comfortable.
I stare at her unsurely, bringing my blankets up to my chin not knowing what to do next. "How long have you been there?" I ask her.
"A couple of minutes." She says, which freaks me out knowing that means she was watching me sleep. I open my mouth to ask her why she was here but she speaks up again. "You talk in your sleep, did you know that?"
I raise and eyebrow at her before attempting to sit up. I felt weird around her, mostly because she actually looked a lot like my Anna - well, a younger and blonde version of her.
Her blue eyes watch my every move as I sat up, bringing the blanket with me as I was actually nude underneath the sheets, and even I had the decency not to scar a child with what I have between my legs.
Besides, Anna might cut that off if she found out I let her little sister see it.
"Are you cold?" She asks.
I nod my head, going along with it. "Very, aren't you?" She replied with a shake of her head.
"I'm used to it. We never really had blankets before." She tells me, and my heart breaks a little. Winter in the North Kingdom was never a joke, so how these people survived them was a mystery to me.
"Well, maybe when we go home you can have all the blankets you want." I tell her, smiling a little at the thought of going home with Anna.
She tilts her head to the side. "We don't have a home." She says, surprisingly without a frown or a trickle of sadness on her face.
I fidget with the blanket I held to my chest, not knowing what to reply to her saddening statement - that is until I remember what Anna had said before. "Home is where the heart is." I tell her. "And you love your sister, right?" I ask, hoping she actually did and that I wasn't going to sink myself in an even more awkward situation.
She doesn't move again, only blankly staring at me. "So Anna is my home?" She asks, and I give her a nod.
It was then did her face first break into a grin, probably happy about the idea of having a home. I was about to smile back, quite relieved that at least I'm able to make one Rither smile. That is until she speaks up again. "Is she your home too?"
I choke.
I literally choke on air and ended up trying to stand up from the bed, only to have the sheets slip from my hands and almost fall past my hips.
The little girl shrieks, hurrying off of the bed too. "No no no no." I say, trying to calm her down in panic.
Oh my fuck Anna's going to think I tried something on her little sister
I held the blanket around my entire body, literally wrapping myself into a thick cocoon before facing the girl, only my feet and head were visible. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Don't scream, please." I almost begged, looking at the girl who had her hands covering her mouth as she stared at me with wide eyes. "Please."
To my surprise she bursts out laughing. Her small hands leaving her mouth as she threw her head back. "You look weird." She says, before walking closer to me. I begun to grow even more confused when she begins to remove the covers on the bed.
She smiles up at me before telling me to bend down as she held the mattress' cover in her small hands. "I can't." I tell her, glancing down at where my knees are before showing her that I couldn't bend down with how tightly I wrapped the blankets around myself.
It didn't seem to discourage her though, as she stood up on the bed and set one end of the sheet on one of my shoulders. I watch her, her small tongue pocking out from between her lips as she concentrated.
I knew what she wanted to do, and I didn't want to waste time by just standing there.
So I started spinning in place, wrapping the new layer around myself. She giggled as she watched me wobbling around in one spot, and I couldn't help but smile at the sound.
It was rare that I'm able to make someone laugh.
When the sheet was wrapped all around me, I looked at Anna's sister and tried to nod my head at the direction of a small wooden wardrobe. "There are more blankets over there if you think this isn't enough." I smiled.
I watched helplessly as she ran towards it without hesitation, pulling out an entire stack of blankets in different colors and thickness. I was hoping she was going to help me out of this after she had her fun, but seeing as she was my Anna's sister, I had a feeling I was going to have to fight my own way out of these blankets.
She was laughing all the while as she made me wrap myself in more blankets. Truthfully, my bare body was actually sweating now, the heat becoming uncomfortable, but I wasn't going to stop her.
The little girl held up another blanket just as I finished the spinning into the seventh one. She was still giggling on my behalf and I begun to wonder if there was a small, slightly sadistic, side to their family.
I was half way through spinning into the next blanket, laughing all the while when the doors of my room suddenly open.
Niall takes one look at us and raises his eyebrow. I clear my throat, trying to bring back a stern face and pretend like I wasn't actually enjoying this.
"Young girl, your sister is waiting for you." He says, and at the mention of Anna my heart rose.
"Anna's awake?" I asked, moving forward, but forgetting my state and falling flat on the ground. It didn't hurt seeing as I had around seven and a half thick sheets to cushion my fall.
Anna's sister laughs at my problem before hoping down from the bed and moving towards me. "You'll get your turn to go home." She tells me, placing a kiss to my cheek and leaving - I knew she would leave me like this.
Niall opens the door wider for the girl to pass, before he moves to leave as well.
My eyes widen. "Oi!" I call out to him. He turns to look at me, trying to hide his smile. "Horan, help me out of this." I demand.
He shrugs. "You need to learn how to find your own way out of the problems you make." He says as he leaves and closes the door behind him, although I hear his roaring laughter anyway despite the barrier.
"Fuck you!" I shout, hoping he had heard me but not the little girl.
I waited for a few more minutes, thinking he was messing with me, but when I find myself still alone in the room and no other sounds are heard, I cursed again, letting my forehead hit the floor.
I guess I better get spinning if I want to find my way out of this.
