Chapter 5 | Lone Star State

As you were discharged from hospital that night, you head straight to Portland International Airport to catch the night flight from Portland to Houston, trying to catch Tzuyu's concert at Houston. You can't miss it, you need to be there to show her that you were fine. You know that she would have been worrying throughout the whole day. 

Thankfully you managed to catch the 23:56 PM United Airlines flight from Portland International Airport which meant you will arrive into George Bush Intercontinental Airport the next morning at around 6 AM. Plenty of time for you to head into Houston city centre and grab some breakfast with your girlfriend Chou Tzuyu before her schedules for the day begins.

That is if everything on your flight goes on schedule.

"Ladies and gentlemen welcome onboard this United Airlines flight UA2441 to Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport our flight time today will be 4 hours and 8 minutes scheduled to land into George Bush Intercontinental Airport at around 6:04 in the morning" the captain announced on the passenger announcement system as everyone boarded the flight.

As the plane started to move you sit back and drifted off to sleep, getting some much needed rest.

You didn't know how long you have slept for on the plane, but it must have been more than an hour until you heard the pilot make another announcement. "Finally, we are nearly at Houston" you thought to yourself.

"Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking, unfortunately are suffering from a mechanical failure with the plane and we will have to make an unexpected emergency landing into Denver International Airport. Once we have landed the ground staff over at Denver will be at aid to make sure all passengers on this flight gets to Houston with the least delays possible. Cabin crew, landing at Denver International Airport in 15 minutes" the pilot announced once again.

Upon hearing this message, most of the passengers onboard moaned knowing that their journey is going to be delayed. You were not happy as well because instead of arriving into Houston in the morning, you didn't know what time you will now be at Houston.

Thankfully, the plane landed safely and once the doors were opened, you rushed to the United Airlines help desk to sort out your connection to Houston. Unfortunately, the next flight from Denver to Houston that isn't overbooked is not going to depart until 15:36 PM which will arrive into Houston at 19:00 PM, and with no signal what so ever, you were stuck in Denver International Airport for nearly 10 hours.

The next morning, Tzuyu woke up and the first thing she did was check her phone. Still no updates from any social media posts. Putting down her phone, Tzuyu let out a big sigh which seemed to wake her roommate Sana up.

"Yah, Tzuyu it's only the morning, what are you sighing for" Sana asked clearly not impressed that Tzuyu was in a bad mood so early in the morning.

"It's nothing unnie, just no news about Y/N" Tzuyu said.

"I'm sure he's fine. Now let me sleep for another 10 minutes before manager-nim calls us and drags us to the concert venue for preparation" Sana responded as she rolled over and went back to sleep.

Soon, Tzuyu had no time to worried, it was concert time and as the VIP fans started to enter the arena for the soundcheck performance, Tzuyu can do nothing else but give her phone one last refresh before putting it away. Still no news and the messages that she sent to you this morning was not delivered.

As the girls head onto the stage, there were a handful of fans below the stage waiting for the girls to do their soundcheck routines. Tzuyu scanned around the handful of crowd to see if you would be there. After all you promised her that you would be in the concert and she would always see you in the VIP section of every concert of hers that you attended. However, no luck today, you weren't here in the crowd as of yet and as the girls finished their soundcheck routines you still hasn't showed up. Tzuyu had to go back to the backstage area disappointed and worried.
