Raina Gilbert ( Vampire Diaries ) ON HOLD

Chapter Nine: Klaus/The Last Day.

Blinking slowly, Raina found herself laying on the bed within Alaric's apartment and recalled what had happened the night before.

She sat up instantly rubbing her neck frowning towards Katherine who was alone in the apartment with her
"Where's Klaus?"

"I don't know" Katherine admits studying the girl as she stands off the bed removing the band from her hair running her finger's through it. Raina silently began to leave only to find that she got stuck in the doorway "his witch spelled you in, you can't leave" Raina slammed the door rather harshly and let out an annoyed huff "I guess we're stuck together" she faced Katherine with a raised brow "who are you?"

"Raina" she walks towards the kitchen helping herself to coffee "I'm surprised you're not dead"

"I could say the same for you" Katherine frowns leaning on the counter eyeing the girl "what are you?"

"A hunter under the protection of a witch" she sips her coffee calmly "like the Gilbert rings but more... effective" she finished thoughtfully "magical tattoo ink" she shrugs and began fixing herself food. Katherine found the girls calmness rather odd as she watched her find her way around the kitchen.

Katherine took to searching for blood in every possible place becoming annoyed when she couldn't find any. Raina took a glass from the cabinet and a knife from a draw.

"I'm assuming Klaus compelled you not to hurt me" she toyed with the knife in her hand making Katherine nervous.

"What makes you say that?"

"I'm the only blood source here and yet.... You haven't drank from me" she pressed the blade to her palm "hungry?" She sliced her skin with out a flinch of pain showing and squeezed the fresh warm liquid into the glass as her wound heals itself, sliding the glass along the counter top she saw Katherine snatch it and gulp it down desperately. Raina headed to the bathroom washing her hands feeling a slight burning sting near the place of the E and pulled down the collar of her top watching as the letter L began to brand her skin and rubs over it with a quiet pained breath. She wished more then anything right now that she could read her grimoire.

She stood in the bathroom for a while just wanting the privacy and the quiet but that quiet was short lived when Katherine decided to loudly play music, Raina shut the door completely and tried to think back to grimoire, the words were jumbled for a moment before they became clear in her mind.

'The longer and closer we are around our given soulmate, the stronger the bond becomes. A mark shall appear on our bodies to show claim of who our mate is, be it a name, a symbol of who they are or even a scar like texture of a poor temperament. Be warned, Shifter. If your mate is a vampire and shall they ever bite you, it'll heal and remain a scar on your body forever one that can not be covered by a spell'

She could clearly picture the words in her mind and touched the two letter's frowning worriedly, she jumped suddenly when the bathroom door is forced open. The once loud music had been turned off and the warlock from the day before grabs her arm and pulled her back to the living space of the apartment where Raina found Alaric unconscious laying on the ground besides a tall open crate and a blonde standing in front of a kneeling witch
"Klaus" she breaths nervously with the hand of the warlock leaving her arm, Katherine looked even more afraid of the blonde man and ducked her head down stepping away from him as he approached Raina.

"We have a lot to talk about, love" Raina gulped "you know the Raven Witch. How?"

"Not personally, I've only gotten messages from her Raven's" Raina lies smoothly, her heart thumping too heavily for Klaus to hear if she's lying or not, which she was of course.
