Chapter 16: Night raid

Location: Arjin, Leifor, 2nd Civilized area
22nd August, 1632, 10:20 PM

It's a moon less night, everything was silenced other than the sound of gunfire and shouting. Mu did expected for Gra Valkas ground forces to attack but not at the night.

2 hours ago, the ground forces of Gra Valkans set up a camp right in the forest next to Arjin, when the moon started to rise, they sent out a 7th Infantry divisions to launched a night raid against Mu's defense.

"Why the hell does it need to rain at this time?"

"We got shelters right there, don't be a kid and complain about everything"

"Yeah, but i don't like this muddy ground and when the cloth get wet it smell freaking bad" He complained.

"We're just need to station here for couple of days before the main forces arrives, then we get to go home. It not that hard" Fennel replied.

"Sure..."

Muish didn't know what was coming for them, a time has passed, the rain was still raining down. And explosion occurred, the surprised attack from Gra Valkans devastated the unexpected Mu and Leiforian troops.

"Shit, it an attack!"

One of Muish soldiers shouted. The sleeping soldiers immediately woke up from the shouting and explosion, they rushed out to their position. Mortar shells fall upon Mu's defense line, and Gra Valkans advanced head down on them. It do seem like Mu is in great disadvantage, but in reality they're not. Mu hold the air superiority over Arjin which mean the attack from the sky is not something for them to be concerned, but the one that should be concerned is their enemies.

Leiforian quickly identified Gra Valkan's mortar position, and Mu aircraft is ready to go.

"3rd squadron, fly out!"

Dave shouted into the radio. All 7 planes of 3rd squadron begin to fly toward their designated position.

"There may be some enemies plane out there, be careful"

On the ground, the Gra Valkans is charging furiously while Mu attempting to hold the line as best as they can.

"Fuck sake!"

Machine gunner cussed at the heated barrels, he can't do anything with it, unlike Heavy machine gun from Earth, the Muish machine gun barrel can't be changed with another one.

"It fucking raining, and you're still able to heat!?"

He shouted, he look around try to find something that could be able to defense himself while he waited the machine gun barrel to cool down.

"Machine gunner! What are you doing!? Stop slacking off!" The officer shouted at him.

"But sir! The gun barrel is heating! I can't do anything with it!" He replied.

"So!?"

Officer shouted back, but they had to stop the conversation as Gra Valkans found their position, but the thing they're holding doesn't look like a gun.

"Shit!"

Officer pulled his gun, attempt to shoot the Gra Valkans. However, it was too late. The Gra Valkans use flamethrower and burn them both in chemical flames, the fire wasn't easy to put out, and they were screaming and struggling to put the fire out, eventually they burned to death. The Gra Valkans advanced on.

"These guy aren't Leiforian!" Gra Valkans soldier exclaimed.

"We got what we want, we just need to report this back to the camp"
