MANALI

Khushi ran away from there, leaving behind a debilitated husband and father. Arnav stood there lifeless, staring at Khushi's running back without blinking. It stung him seeing his life, his Khushi was going away from him again. But he was unable to do anything as he lost all his energy listening to Khushi's pernicious words. His whole body and mind were too numb to react to her escape with her accusations. Those malicious words uttered by Khushi and the despair in her voice and eyes while articulating those suppressed feelings were pricking in his ears like an arrow. Recalling her empty and hurt grieving eyes, tears began to flow as if Khushi's pain was flowing from his eyes in the form of tears. His entire body started to tremble. He wasn't able to stand there properly because of the heaviness of his own deeds, and he slowly began to move towards his house with his wobbling feet. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, rain started to pour as if nature wanted to make him believe that he was not alone in his desolation and dejection. But instead of soothing his misery, it gave him burning sensations in his heart. The rain that used to comfort him until today was giving him immense pain now. This rain had many bitter-sweet memories of his and his Khushi, but today it was only reminding him about those lifeless eyes and the pain in them which was given by no one else but him. The rain which was the souvenirs of their love until today had now become the anamnesis of their pain as well.
