I yelped the apology as I quickly scooped up the teens and ran away, MK had almost gotten us arrested the moment we've appeared by trying to buy dumplings form a merchant.

I ran into an alleyway and dropped the two, they both bounced like balls before plopping down on their butts with dot eyes.

Sigh!

"Okay then, great start gang we're already criminals." I said passive aggressively making MK sweatdrop guiltily.

"Sorry..."
The brunette mumbled.

I suddenly realized my glamour wasn't raised yet, so I quickly do so, reverting back to my more human look, just as I sensed a telepathic connection coming to us.

Azure soon manifested in a cyan hue,
"You made it in safely! Great! Mei, MK, Sen, welcome to 7th Century Chang'an. I trust you've experienced astral projection before?"

"Yep!"
"Small instances with Sun, yes."

"No! Is this what dying is like?!"
Mei cried, Azure shrugged her worry off.

"A little astral projection never hurt anyone. Listen, I don't have much time. Remember how I told you the scroll has a protective curse?"

"And that it'll try to find and destroy us. Uh-huh, yeah. Wasn't really gonna forget that part." MK said.

"Good. Try not to draw too much attention to yourself. The curse will be drawn to any imperfections it detects within its stories. So, for starters, we need to do something about those." Azure said, we saw him gesture to our clothes, the teens gasped in excitement while I did in horrified shock.

"New outfits?!"
Mei squealed.

"You betcha. I found some duds your size over in that trash pile. Well, for the kids...for you though.." Azure looked my way as the two ran towards the mucky trash.

"What?"
I asked, Azure put a clawed hand to his chin in thought.

"Well, your a peculiar case, I couldn't find anything that'd fit nor anything you'd willingly wear, so I decided to get you something completely different compared to those two."
Azure explained.

"What is it?"

"Sen you look so cool!!!!"
The two teens said as I secured the metal belt around my new fit, while the two were in rather standard civilian clothing, I was completely decked out in a samurai's usual attire, including a sword clipped to my belt!

"Damn! This shit is snug around the waist, surprising but so fit. Flexible too!" I said, twisting around to test, hearing a few satisfying pops and cracks.

"Mhm, I'm glad you like it Sen. I'd say it fits a true warrior like yourself, but I fear there's one minor issue."

"What is it?"

"Well, in the year now, woman aren't allowed to be soldiers, so seeing one around the streets will bring to much attention."
