Summary:
Y/N's mum died a few years back, and she had always been very important to her. On the anniversary of her mum's death, she gets emotional and Rhea comforts her.

Y/N's POV
I checked the time on my phone. It was too late to disturb my girlfriend. I sat in bed silently, tears rolling down my cheeks as midnight struck.
All I could think about is that night. That night, when my world came crashing to the ground right before my very eyes.
Rhea had been kind enough to search for the pieces and glue it back together, but one piece had disappeared down a dark hole, completely out of reach.
Rhea understood this, and she never pressed me to move on.
Thoughts of that night cloud my mind once more. The sound of my mum's heart monitor as if flatlined. The sound of shouts and sobs, from people I'd always thought were so strong. The smell of hospital. The dreadful smell of hospital that I'd always hated.
I was dragged out of my thoughts by a hand gently caressing my side.
'What's the matter?' Rhea asked, looking up at me concernedly. She hadn't lifted her head from her pillow, but her eyes and voice told me she cared.
'Today's the anniversary of my mum's death,' I explained sadly, sinking down so I could look into Rhea's eyes, which were still half closed from sleep.
Rhea rubbed her eyes so she could look at me properly.
'Y/N...' she said sadly. She opened her arms and I automatically crawled into her hold. Her arms wound around me and I breathed in her beautiful scent.
'Is there anything I could do to make you feel better?' Rhea asked, holding me close to her chest.
'Maybe,' I said through sobs. 'I don't know what though.'
Rhea sat up, pulling me with her. She rested my legs on hers, and stroked my hair. 'Do you want to go get something to drink? You must be dehydrated from all this crying.'
I nodded and stood up, waiting for Rhea to join me. She did so, and I took her hand as she led me to the kitchen.
I sat on the counter as Rhea grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it with cool water from the fridge. I heard a soft clink as ice cubes were dropped into the glass, and then Rhea was in front of me, holding the glass out while smiling warmly.
I smiled back at her and took the glass, inspecting it before drinking. The cold water froze my mouth, and I paused for a moment, stunned by the difference in temperature.
Once I'd finished the glass, I left it beside me and hopped down off the counter.
'I was going to suggest we go back to bed, but we're both wide awake now. So do you want to watch The Sound of Music?' Rhea asked.
'We watched that earlier,' I complained. 'You have to have other films, right?'
'It's the only film I have on DVD, and I got signed out of Netflix so you have no other choice. It's not like it's a bad movie, anyway.'
I sighed. 'Thanks for cheering me up.'
'No problem,' Rhea replied. Then she paused, as if she'd suddenly had a genius idea.
'What is it?' I asked her.
'I'm sorry if this upsets you, but didn't you when you used to watch movies with your mum you'd make a weird chair-pillow fort, and eat cheese on crackers?'
'Yes, we did. Why do you ask?' I said, confused.
Rhea put her hand on one of the kitchen chairs. 'You get blankets and pillows, I'll get chairs and crackers,' she said with a smile.
My face lit up. 'Oh my god, yes!'
I sprinted back to our bedroom, grabbing the dark grey blanket and pillows.
Rhea had left two chairs in the middle of the living room, and I could see her in the kitchen, cutting cheese with her back turned.
I moved the chairs so their backs were facing each other, and I draped the blanket over the top, leaving a little entrance that you could see the television through. I threw the pillows into the space, just in time for Rhea to walk through holding two plates.
She handed one to me and sat down in my makeshift den. I sat beside her and started eating one of the crackers, as Rhea got up again to sort out the DVD player.
She came back, and we watched the film peacefully.
