✩ - STORM.

INTRO:
he had sewn his lips tight
with the thought in his mind,
"if i lie one more time,
they might let me off the hook."
the storm never truly dies

VERSE ONE:
he lay in the darkness of his room
at two fifteen, blacked out by his dreams
so soundproof are his screams
his fingers tremble as he finds the remote
and flicks on the tv, a breath in and out
his eyes adjust to the screen

CHORUS:
he doesn't know if it's real or not
so he's leaving the world
with no one to bask in his return
he's kept it going for far too long
he'll make home in the forest
the last he'll be seen ever again

VERSE TWO:
he doesn't know love if it doesn't come from his mother
and she'd give it to the world before she does to her only son
so he waits by the pine tree, whispering softly, "when will the time come?"
the quicker it went, the sooner it was to come

(CHORUS)

BRIDGE:
do you miss his silvery smile?
'fore you tore and mourned and stole it
do you miss his missing eye?
half the tears than one would notice
do you miss his open sky?
'fore you reached up and closed it
do you miss how time rewinds?
when a stopwatch is left broken

(CHORUS)

OUTRO:
he had closed his eyes tight
the storm never truly dies
