Chapter Nineteen: Dangerous Liasons (part two)

Raina sat besides Rebekah the both of them getting their nails done whilst Finn, Kol and Elijah were getting their tuxes ready for the ball.

"Rebekah, tell me how handsome I am" Kol faced his sister with a cocky smile dancing on his lips.

"Oh, Kol. You know I can't be compelled" Raina showed her amusement as did both Finn and Elijah.

"How about you, Raina?"

"Sorry, darling. You can't compel a witch" she smirks in return "nor would I upset Elijah in such a way" Elijah hums studying a shoe after having studied one before.

"You wen't after Elena" Nik storms in angrily "what is wrong with you?"

"Here we go" Rebekah relaxed smiling up to her brother as Raina watched.

"Do you want another dagger in your heart?"

"Again with the dagger threats? Don't you have any other tricks?" Kol got involved.

"Go back to staring at yourself" Nik faced his brother annoyed.

"And who are you, my father?"

"No, Kol. But you are in my house" the brother's got close threatening one another with a physical altercation.

"Do you think my sister would be against me altering her DNA?" Raina looks to Rebekah curiously.

"How so?" Rebekah smirks knowingly.

"Well, if she weren't the doppelgänger by blood-"

"You wouldn't" Nik glared at the girl.

"But I would" she smiles in that sickly innocent way "enough with the fighting or I shall remove your tongue for a month" she warns standing from the sofa looking at her freshly painted nails "want to see my dress?" She asks Rebekah.

"I'd love you" the two left the brothers alone.

"I like her, Elijah" Kol announced "she certainly knows how to push Nik's buttons"

"That she does" Elijah mused seeming proud of the fact.

Raina stood in front of the mirror in her bedroom flattening the front of her dress smiling small at the fact that Elijah's name can just about be seen. Her neck tingles making her look towards the doorway through the mirror to see Elijah standing there in his tux smiling in a way she had never seen before.

"You look... perfect" he slowly approached her standing slightly to the side behind her noticing his name partly on show "you are not worried about people knowing?" He asks softly.

"The biggest shame in a persons life..." she turned to face him straightening his bow tie "is hiding something they adore most in the world" she meets his eyes "you look handsome"

"Thank you" he smiles "I brought you something" he reached into his blazer retrieving a velvet box long enough to hold a bracelet and opened it watching her eyes sparkle as she gasps.

"Elijah, its beautiful" she looks up to him "thank you, no ones ever gotten me something like this before"

"Its a birthday gift" he told lifting the silver and purple bracelet from the box setting the box aside and gently wraps it around her right wrist.

"Thank you" she said again leaning upward kissing his cheek gently blushing slightly as she pulls away.

"You're welcome" he offer's the girl his arm that she takes being guided towards the staircase. The sound of music and chatter filled her ears as looks down to the guests spotting Elena with the Salvatore brother's.
