Author's note : First of all, I deeply apologize for leaving this story and not updating. My life has been filled with numerous ups and downs. I had to move countries and face various challenges that are still ongoing. However, I want to continue pursuing my writing hobby as usual. I understand that the next chapter might also take some time, but I kindly ask you to bear with me during this period of transition and uncertainty.

The sun cast a warm glow over the city as Kavin stepped out of the crime scene. The gruesome murder case had drained everyone's energy, leaving them mentally and physically exhausted. They found solace in each other's company, working seamlessly as a team.

After saying bye to everyone, kavin went home as he still hasn't got any reply from purvi directly.

As he reached home, Kavin's usually composed demeanor seemed slightly off. He hesitated for a moment before finally going inside home and talking to Purvi. Kavin saw that Purvi was resting in living room, he went and sat by her side without saying anything.

Kavin: Purvi, I've been thinking about something lately.

Purvi: (Curious) What is it, Kavin?

Kavin: You remember when we first got married, it was because of the promise I made to your father on his deathbed.

Purvi: (Nods) Yes, I remember. It was a difficult time for both of us.

Kavin: (Pauses, looking away) I always thought that was the only reason for our marriage. That it was my duty to fulfill that promise. But lately, I've been questioning myself.

Purvi: (Concerned) What do you mean?

Kavin: (Locks eyes with Purvi) Purvi, I rejected your confession before because I didn't believe in love. I thought it was a distraction, something that could hinder our work. But these past few months, being with you, solving cases together, I've started to see things differently.

Purvi: (Surprised) What are you trying to say, Kavin?

Kavin: (Takes a deep breath) I think... I think I'm starting to develop feelings for you, Purvi. Real feelings that go beyond duty and promises. I've been denying it, trying to ignore it, but it's becoming harder every day.

Purvi's eyes widened in surprise and a glimmer of hope flickered within her. She had longed for Kavin to realize his true feelings, but she never expected this confession.

Purvi: (Softly) Kavin, I... I don't know what to say.

Kavin: (Steps closer, his voice filled with sincerity) Purvi, I understand if it's too late. I know I've hurt you before, and I can't erase the past. But I wanted to be honest with you, to let you know that things have changed for me. I'm willing to explore this, to see where it leads us.

Purvi: (Touched) Kavin, I've always loved you, even when you rejected me. My heart has yearned for you, hoping that one day you would see what's right in front of you. I never stopped caring, even when it hurt. And now, hearing you say this, it fills me with hope.

Kavin reached out and gently took Purvi's hand in his, his touch sending a wave of warmth through her.

Kavin: (Whispering) Purvi, will you give me a chance to make things right? To show you how much you mean to me?

Purvi: (Smiling, tears welling up) Yes, Kavin. Yes, I will.

In that moment, the weight of their unspoken feelings began to lift. They stood there, hand in hand, ready to embark on a new chapter of their lives-a chapter filled with love, trust, and the shared pursuit of justice.

Kavin (in mind): I am sorry, Purvi. I lied... I still don't love you. But I wanted to give us a chance and bring a smile to your face. I know I care for you a lot, more than just a friend. It will take some time for me to accept everything and fall in love, but I don't want to lose a friend like you while waiting for that time. I am sorry...
