When Jace barely knew Melody and Clary he noticed how protective the older Fairchild was over her sister. The way she wouldn't be too far behind from Clary, the way they would always stick together and how Melody would be always careful of how Clary reacted about the situation.

He could clearly remember Melody's words when they fought over going to the City of Bones, and how Melody practically challenged him to even dare to provoke her. He was glad he never put her protectiveness to test, otherwise he would be in Rafael's place at the moment.

The blonde was rubbing Clary's back in comfort as she cried over her best friend's dead body, while Alec and Izzy were trying to stop Melody from almost killing Rafael. Jace watched how the siblings put Melody on the other side of the room as Rafael sighed tiredly as he sit down on a bench, his face covered in bruises.

Jace knew the vampire was going to heal, but the bruises on his face looked very painful. The blonde had to control himself to not chuckle at the image of the vampire as he turned to look at the older Fairchild. If looks could kill, Raphael would be 6 feet under in less than a second, giving Melody's look.

After making sure she calmed down, Alec sighed as he turned towards the others. "People are going to wonder why the alarm went off. I'm going up to tell them we found nothing and make sure nobody is coming down here." He informed as Jace and Izzy nodded. He then grabbed Melody's arm and whispered in her ear. "I know he broke some accords, but if you keep on punching him you will be held responsible for acting against the vampires. Remember you and Clary still need to prove that you are not like your father." Alec warned her and with that he walked out of the room.

Melody sighed trying to calm herself down. She already went through her crying episode and then her rage one. She could only watch her best friend lying on the cold table, as her sister cried over his body.

"Killing Simon is ground for war." Izzy snarled towards the vampire. "The vampires broke the accords." She continued.

"This weren't the vampires. Just Camille. She was the one who planned it. She was the one who gave him blood and just like an addict he came back to her for more." Rafael explained as he wiped some blood from the corner of his mouth.

"And who was the bright master mind who brought Simon to Camille?" Melody snarled from the corner of the room where she was standing catching everybody's attention. "You were the one who kidnapped him. You were the one who delivered him to Camilled in the first place." Melody said as she eyed him.

"I never planned for this to happen." Rafael said in his defense.

"Really? Oh tell me, what did you expect to happen?" Melody asked tilting her head a little. "Let me guess. Two girls who appeared out of nowhere in the Shadow World turning out to be the most feared maniac's daughters might be the key to the Mortal Cup. How about I kidnap their best friend and give him to my master, for her to toy with him. I am sure the Farchild sisters are going to bring the cup and exchange it for the innocent mortal I kidnapped and I am sure my master wouldn't have bit him or something, meaning you broke the fucking accords!" Melody yelled angry. "Camille might have been the one who attacked Simon, and maybe she was the one who gave the order, but you might as well be as guilty as she is. You are her accomplice. Trying to get her under the bus and put all the blame on her is not going to save you that easily from me." Melody said dangerously calm as she looked Raphael straight in the eyes.

The vampire stood there as silence engulfed the room. The only thing that was heard were Clary's sobs as she still cried for Simon. Melody was sitting back in her corner, not even looking at the table where the body was. Jace and Izzy barely had the courage to say anything to either of the sisters. Clary was an emotional mess, and Melody....well she was a raging mess, they wouldn't even be surprised if the older Fairchild would try to snap their neck in anger. Raphael let Melody's words sink in. She had every right to be angry at him and at the situation.
