Despite his father's efforts, Ryota's mind still wanders off while playing with the ring. Why are you taken away so soon? Dad is going his best, and yes, we bonded more than ever. It's still different.
'Ryota.' The voice sounds stern.
He ignores his uncle. I said not today. Without looking, he sends his uncle away. Come again, and I'll send you away further.
'Ryota, I need some answers,' starts Kanato again. 'Talk to me. Why did you scream so early in the afternoon?'
Because I like waking you up that way? Are you being obtuse on purpose? He kept silent and sent him away for the third time. And why would I tell you, anyway? I haven't heard from you in ten years, and now you insist on knowing me? That's not how it works.
Kanato is getting tired of being teleported elsewhere. 'Ryota, I'll keep coming back. Why did you scream this afternoon? Or that you were crying.'
'Get a hint, Kanato, and leave me alone.' If you keep coming back then I'll go somewhere else. He makes his uncle disappear before he goes away. Just leave me alone. This is not one of my good days.
Kanato ended up in the pool this time. Wet, he teleports to his bathroom to dry up and get clean and dry clothes. By the time he's back, he can't find Ryota. 'Where are you?'
'Depends on who you're looking for.' Ayato notices a change of clothes. 'What happened to you?'
'Ryota happened.' Even Teddy is wet that I can't carry him. Kanato checks the game room.
Ayato shakes no. 'I haven't seen him once in this room.'
'Well, I asked him something, and he just teleports me away and straight into the pool downstairs.' Kanato isn't finished or Ayato laughs. 'It's not funny. Teddy is wet, and I can't carry him until he's dry.' He finds Subaru in a window-sill staring outside. 'Have you seen Ryota?'
'No, but I heard you just now.' Subaru chuckles in a mean way. 'I'll thank him if I do see him. You are an easy target because of that bear.' Another laugh follows, and he vanishes.
On good luck, Kanato tries the boy's bedroom. 'Why did you have to throw me and Teddy in the pool?! Now, it will take hours until he's dry.' He finds the kid on his bed with his back to the door. 'Answer me!'
Because you are annoying. This is exactly what dad means with growing up. He refuses to listen. Damn it brat, my mother's death anniversary is coming closer. And I was pretty close to her. Leave me alone! Apparently, I'm not safe in my bedroom.
'Ryota, what is going on?' Ayato tries with a friendlier approach.
He leaves his room. Where in this godforsaken house can I get some privacy?! Those nightmares always make me emotional and break me. Appearing elsewhere, he hears calm noises. Sounds he recognizes and he freezes on the spot. They have a piano here?! No, stop playing. I don't wanna hear it. Stop it! He can't stop the tears when Kanato shows up.
'It's hard to keep track with you, Ryota.' Kanato sees a few tears but the boy turns around. 'Just talk to me! I wanna know why you're crying. I haven't forgotten how you screamed earlier this afternoon.'
Laito stops playing the piano and joins his brother. 'You and crying?' He can only see his nephew's back. 'What's going on?'
'Why can't you see that I wanna be alone?!' I'm not having my night, damn it. He doesn't even care that they can see his tears. 'And since when can I not have some fucking privacy in my own bedroom?!'
'Hey, don't look at me. I just came to see what's happening. I'm not bothering you all night,' Laito defends himself.
'Careful, or he will teleport you to the pool. He did that with me and Teddy...'
'Grow up, damn it! No one would ever hire you when you carry a damn teddy bear like a little boy.' He can't stop himself anymore. 'Oh, wait, you play with dolls too, and that makes you more of a little girl.'
Laito laughs. 'He's got a point there, Kanato.'
'Go back to your piano,' sneers Kanato at his brother. 'And you! Don't you ever say such a thing, or I will turn you into a doll.'
He sees his uncle's eyes light up red but Laito goes away. Not a second later, he hears the piano again. 'Stop playing!' He follows him and sees a black piano. 'Stop playing, or I will destroy it.'
'I won't let you.' Laito shakes with a smile and continues playing.
'Last chance, Laito. Stop playing the piano!' When he realizes Laito isn't going to stop, he kicks the piano against his uncle and pulls the strings out. That his hand bleeds a little doesn't stop him. 'Just stop! I can't hear another piano. One more note, and I'll kill you with a string!' He can't stop the tears either.
For the first time, Laito recoils seeing his nephew. That's a first. Since when would he threaten me?
He continues breaking the piano and throws part of it straight out the window. 'And don't buy a new one either because I will break it again. You get that!'
'Ryota.' Reiji hears the commotion and sees the damage.
'I can't hear another fucking piano again! Ever!' Crying, he drops to his knees.
Reiji knows the others came too, but he ignores them. 'I know, Ryota. I know.' He pulls him in his arms and tries to calm him. There goes another piano. Without so much of a word, he goes back to his room with Ryota.
