the lone walker

endless blue expanse

You tried to open your eyes,

But a stinging sensation filled them,

You tried to sit up,

But you realised something,

You were in a liquid,

You eventually managed to open your eyes,

Only to see an endless blue expanse,

You appeared to be in an ocean,

The water made you shiver,

You could do nothing but float,

You tried to swim for a while,

But soon after you ran out of energy to keep moving,

There was nothing for you to eat or drink,

Hours past,

Your thirst grew,

You had attempted to drink the water you floated on,

But it was salty,

Over the course of of the next few days,

You had intermittent periods of swimming and floating,

Until you found that due to your hunger and Your thirst,

You could barely move,

You began to black out randomly,

To the point of you being incapable of having any sense of time,

Until, eventually, Your body went limp and your heart stopped,

There was silence,

There was darkness,

There was nothing,

Until a shadowy figure with red and yellow eyes appeared,

There was a bright flash of light,

And you awoke,

In an endless blue expanse,

And this kept happening,

Every time your heart stopped,

You saw it,

And awoke in an endless blue expanse,

A fate worse than death...
