It was a very peaceful Sunday morning at the Goenka house. The whole family had decided to have traditional breakfast this morning and spend some precious time with each other amid the hustle of life. The idea was suggested by mimi as she was emotional since the day Aarohi's marriage was fixed and wanted her family to spend most of the time together.
"Badi mumma, everything tastes so yum! Thank you for this!!" Akshara munched on her favourite kachoris like a six year old as everyone else agreed with her.
"It feels so good to sit here and have breakfast with everyone after so long! Maa, sorry for being so busy with work. From now on, I'll make sure we'll have Sundays like this every week." Manish said with a smile as he took a sip of his tea.
"Why only Sundays? I'm up for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays too!! Right, bhaiyya?" Akshara excitedly looked at Kairav, but her face got dull when he didn't return the same enthusiasm and just nodded in response.
"Akshu, all of this requires getting up early, and we all know what a sleepy head you are!" Noticing the awkwardness between her siblings, Aarohi was quick to crack a joke which earned little chuckles from everyone before she made a mental note to ask Akshara about what was bothering her later.
"Also, badi mumma, can you make something good for lunch too? I have invited Neil over to discuss the engagement theme and outfits. Would that be okay?" Aarohi asked, and Akshara was quick to ask Aarohi if Neil was coming alone, hoping that maybe she would get to see Abhimanyu, to which Aarohi just shrugged her shoulders.
"I'll make all his favourite dishes today, Aaru. Don't you worry." Swarna said, and Aarohi flashed her a thankful smile before the family again got engrossed in eating and laughing about random stuff.

"What was the need for you to tag along? Didn't you say you had work when I asked you to attend the event planner?" Neil asked as they parked the car outside the Goenka house.
"I 'had work. Past tense? I got done with it, so I decided to come with you." He casually shrugged his shoulders as they moved towards the entrance.
"Oh please, bhai. Just accept that you want to see Akshara. You can't even go one day without her." Neil teased his brother and was expecting a smack from him but got shocked when he saw his brother looking down and blushing.
"You're so gone!!" He laughed at Abhimanyu's condition before both of them entered the Goenka house and were received by Swarna, Manish, and Kairav.
"Namaste, Aunty." Both Abhimanyu and Neil greeted Swarna while Kairav just stood afar and glared at Abhimanyu, which didn't go unnoticed by Abhimanyu, but he was too excited to give a damn.
"You both can call me badi mumma like Akshu and Aarohi. There is no need to be formal." Swarna said with a smile, and they both nodded.
"Beta, Aaru, and Akshu are upstairs. You can join them. We'll call you for lunch shortly." Manish told them before both the boys hurriedly made their way upstairs, making Swarna and Manish smile at their antics.
"Abhimanyu is equally good as Neil, don't you think?" Swarna asked, and Manish nodded with a smile as he agreed with his wife.
"Neil!!" Aarohi was quick to jump in her fiancé's arms as soon as she spotted him entering her room as he hugged her back. Abhimanyu stood at the door, his eyes scanning for Akshara, who was nowhere to be seen.
"Aarohi, Akshara....??" He sheepishly scratched the back of his neck like a high school boy blushing because of his crush as Aarohi shook her head at his love sick behaviour.
"Akshu is in the study room with Avinash. They both needed to discuss something." His face went stern as soon as Aarohi took Avinash's name. He was quick to turn around and marched towards the study room.
He could easily hear the sound of laughter coming from inside the room as he reached closer before he entered without a warning and saw Akshara laughing at some lame jokes cracked by Avinash, which made his blood boil.
"Sir?" Avinash was the first one to notice Abhimanyu as he immediately stood up straight, and the smile on his face was replaced by a shocking look.
"Abhi wha– I mean, Dr. Abhimanyu, what are you doing here?" Akshara was equally happy and surprised to see Abhimanyu standing in front of her as she looked at him with a small smile.
"Ask him to leave." His voice was dominating as he glared at Avinash, making the situation tense as Avinash frowned at his behaviour.
"Sir, why should I..." Before he could complete Abhimanyu, cut him off.
"I. Said. Leave!!" He got a little louder this time, making poor Avinash startled as he looked at Akshara, who was busy staring at Abhimanyu before leaving the study room quietly.
"Abhi, what the hell was that? You didn't need to be so rude. He's my friend." Akshara moved towards Abhimanyu, who was still not happy about Avinash being with Akshara.
"I've seen the way he looks at you, and I don't like that!" He blurted out, and Akshara just looked at him in surprise.
Jealous Manyu!
"And why does it bother you?" Now it was Abhimanyu's turn to get surprised as he looked at her before wrapping his hand around her waist and pulling her into him as their bodies connected with each other, making Akshara shiver at the closeness.
"Because I don't like sharing, Akshara." His face inched closer as his hot breath sent chills down her spine, making her grip onto his shoulders tightly.
"What's mine is mine!" Her heart fluttered at his confession as she looked at him, her eyes locked with his in a magnetic gaze as he pulled her closer to him, leaving no gap in between them with their lips mere inches apart.
Akshara closed her eyes in response before she moved her lips towards his cheeks and placed a soft kiss there. Abhimanyu's eyes closed shut as her lips felt like home, making him lose his grip on her waist as she gently pushed him back and walked towards the exit of the room being a blushing mess before his question stopped her in her track.
"Will you go to the prom with me?"
