Chapter 1: Gina's rules

Louisianne stared at the pink chart on the wall in her bedroom. It was decorated with purple butterflies and yellow hearts because according to Gina, "No one hates those colours!" Well she did, she preferred a more practical and sensible colour like brown.

Louisianne's eyes darted to the top of the chart, in big, pink, hand-written block letters, was 'GINA'S RULES'.

The short brunette with the sky blue eyes, tucked a strand of her brown hair behind her ear, pushed up her glasses, and closed her eyes.

"One: Obey Gina at all times, Two: Be loyal to your sisters, if lying is necessary then so be it, Three: Never date a sisters ex, Four: alert a sister of your where-abouts at all times. Five: DO NOT...." Lou prodded her memory. "Come on Lou, you can do this." She took a deep breath. "DO NOT...."

The fifteen year old sighed and peeled open her eyes . "Of course, 'DO not betray your sisters."

Lou pressed her eyes shut once more and recited the other five rules with ease.

"Lou! Breakfast!" Gina called up the stairs.

Louisianne nearly shouted, 'Coming MOM!'

Regina was an excellent cook and every morning after five minutes of rehearsing Gina's rules was breakfast. Lou remembered that Toni had once told her that she just used one of Lilianne's recordings to pretend that she was rehearsing.

Lou shook her head. It was a brilliant idea because her twin, Lilianne, recorded EVERYTHING ever said in the house. Brilliant, but Louisianne knew how detrimental it was to ignore Gina's Rules and if Toni was smart, she had better know too.....
