Heart and Brain

Listen to your brain
Your heart is an idiot,
But it doesn't know the pain
It only knows to insidiate.

My brain tricks my heart
And my heart tricks my brain,
I'm back at the start
I go back again and again.

Do I mess with my own feelings
Or the feelings of others?
Mine can go as high as the ceilings
And in the end it smothers.

My brain doesn't know what to say
My heart doesn't know what to feel,
And then at the end of the day
I don't even know what's real.

My brain is selfish
My heart is selfless,
My brain makes the wish
And my heart will confess.

Can my brain overpower my heart?
Can my heart overpower my brain?
My brain can do its own part
But my heart doesn't know what to gain.

Sense and sensibility
We need both,
Sensibility knows liability
And sense knows to loathe.
