One major problem with the increase in action this season is that there can only be so many "oohs" and "ahhs" it's hard to make action scene reactions unique.

Also last episode, yes that was a Rick and Morty reference in the 100% non-canon side story. Of course you could say it is canon because he erased their memory and multiverse theory etc etc.

S9E3- Number One

"He is the one and only character who is genuinely good with a sniper. Did you see him? He didn't just shoot from one spot, he was running, jumping, and shooting all at the same time!" Ruby rambled.

"The only other time we've seen him he was a corpse." Weiss pointed out.

Ruby blushed and began to babble, "W- I- well I- I so what? He's cool!"

Ren nodded, "The move he did with his sub-machine gun. It looked useful, I may use it myself."

Nora gasped, "SMG uppercut! SMG uppercut! Ren you would look so good! Not in that way I mean you are handsome like I told you before but I meant cool! You know what I mean?"

Ren simply nodded, "Thank you, but I don't think I will call it an SMG uppercut."

"Er what?" Jaune mumbled, "I already wrote that down as a move." Jaune held up his scroll.

Pyrrha and Nora giggled as Ren's eyebrow rose. "I see, SMG uppercut it is. With Ruby's upgraded ammo I'm sure it will be very effective."

"Especially in the tournament." Pyrrha added.

Jaune nodded, "Anyway let's see what this episode is."

"Number One" appeared on the screen with the theme.

Yang grinned, "Oh yeah, here comes Tex."

"If number one was Tex her name would have been shown." Blake reiterated.

"So you keep saying." Yang sighed.

"Let's just see." Jaune laughed nervously.

The screen is black. Slow beeping can be heard. There's a small electronic noise before it cuts to the holographic model of the Research Facility. Behind it is the director, standing in front of the leaderboard.

Operator: "Situation is critical, sir. Should we do something?"

Director: "Yes. Send her in."

Yang smirked and glanced over to Blake who kept her best poker face, ignoring Yang's grin.

The camera pans up to show the names "North Dakota" and "South Dakota", which are flashing red and black.

Operator: "Roger that. Come in Number One, Number One you are green."

Blake's poker face broke, "See Yang? Why not just say Agent Texas."

Yang sighed, "I don't know, I really just want to see her kicking ass again."

Director: "Activate failsafe."
