It Takes One to No Place: Part 1

Sonic and Shadow were seen just shortly after their duel in Green Hill. Sonic had to find a way to get Shadow to leave him alone, so he did the next best thing. "Hey look! Annie!" Sonic screamed.

Shadow turned around and said "Where?!" before Sonic spin dashed into Shadow, sending him into a rock. "Hate to hit and run, but I gotta split, Shadow!" Sonic smirked at Shadow as he dashed away from him, collecting rings as he headed up the mountain that held the prism.

Shadow let out a loud yell as he exploded the nearby area, the rocks scattering everywhere. He growled. Some king of the core he is, tricking me into thinking Annabelle was here! Shadow thought with a growl. He looked up and saw the mountain where Sonic was headed, and decided to find out what Sonic was up to.

Shadow sped past Big, who happened to recognize him. The black hedgehog started his accent up the mountain. He spin dashed into some nearby rocks as he kept on going up, soon arriving at the cave entrance. "Shads?!" Annabelle screamed when she saw her second boyfriend appear.

This was when he saw her, and then he saw Sonic beginning to break the Paradox Prism as Eggman slowly prepared to grab it from the ground. As all of Sonic's friends shouted "SONIC! NO!!", Shadow took the emerald he had collected from before and screamed "Chaos control!", just before the prism exploded.

Sonic's friends were being sent back in a variety of colors as Annabelle looked at Sonic one final time before shutting her eyes, Shadow being frozen in time while chaos controlling. Shadow disappeared before everything went black.

Sonic was seen floating through the Void as Shadow appeared, still holding the emerald. He looked around, realizing that his home, and his love, were gone. "Sonic. You'll pay for this," Shadow snarled.

The fight in New Yoke City had concluded as Sonic, Knucks, and Rebel high-fived each other. "You guys good?" Sonic asked Knucks and Rebel. "We're good, but we don't know what happened with your friends though," Knucks said. Rebel had to agree with Knucks for once. "I don't like this. The shard could be anywhere," she said.

Sonic nodded, agreeing with them. "I'll be back in a flash!" Sonic replied happily as he darted off. He began to look around the town, searching for them. This wasn't until he sped ahead, noticing the Mother Ship. "What in the...where did that come from? I better check it out," Sonic then told himself.

He began to run at ever faster speeds as he became surrounded in prism energy. "What the-" Sonic started. He then heard Shadow's voice again. "Keep going! Do not stop!" he shouted. Sonic didn't even say Shadow's name again as he shook his head and kept on moving. Soon, he became filled with so much prism energy, he disappeared entirely, leaving New Yoke.

Sonic was falling and screaming for what time? He didn't know what. All he knew was that he was screaming for his dear life, trying to keep his balance in the air. "Wait is that water?!" Sonic said freaking out. "Please don't be water please don't be water please don't be wat-and yep it's water. Just when things couldn't get any worse!"

He thought that all hope was lost until he spotted a small island patch below. "Wait. Is that land?!" Sonic freaked out again. He had to get to it, or he'd drown. Sonic then tried to use his powers to keep himself up while making swimming motions, but he ended up falling in the water right next to the island.

"I was so close..." Sonic moaned, head in the water. He was about to pant, but when he got up, he realized that he had gills on the side of his face after touching them. Huh. That's new, Sonic thought to himself. He wiped the water away from his eyes, quills, and ears. "Ok, stay calm. One minute I was looking for Nine and Wasp, then I saw that gnarly old ship and then somehow..."
