Chapter Eight

Jungkook and Taehyung did not expect to walk into the hospital building only two days after they visited Jimin. But at unpredictable times, life throws anything at the ones living. This time, instead of bringing gifts, they arrived with concerned expressions. Nurse Angela had called them earlier that morning, informing them that Jimin was healing well physically but wanted to discuss his mental health. Despite their doubts about how their presence could help Jimin's mental well-being, they agreed to go to the hospital.

Guided by their memory, they quickly located Jimin's room. Taehyung knocked on the door repeatedly, but there was no response. He then reached for the handle and turned it, finding the door unlocked. As they entered, silence enveloped them. The bouquets resting in the vases were the ones they brought for Jimin, confirming that it was indeed his room, but he was nowhere to be found. Panic started to rise within them.

"Maybe he's in the bathroom?" Taehyung suggested.

Jungkook went to check the bathroom but returned shortly, shaking his head.

"What if Nurse Angela lied about wanting to discuss his mental health?" Taehyung speculated.

"What are you suggesting?" Jungkook asked, his voice filled with evident panic.

"That she wanted to get us here because Jimin—" Taehyung was interrupted when they heard a knock. Both of them turned their attention to the door, where Nurse Angela appeared.

"Mr Kim and Mr Jeon, thank you for coming on such short notice. I hope you didn't have to reschedule anything," Nurse Angela greeted them.

"No, it's okay," Jungkook reassured her, and Taehyung nodded in agreement.

"Alright, then follow me. I will take you to Mini," Nurse Angela instructed.

"Mini?" Taehyung questioned as they started walking.

"That's what he prefers to be called," Nurse Angela replied, her brow furrowing. "I thought it was his nickname, and you called him by it."

"No," Taehyung responded, glancing at Jungkook, who shook his head. "We don't call him that."

"That's strange," Nurse Angela noted, making a mental note to discuss it with Dr Kim later.

She led the two men down the corridor until they reached a green door adorned with stickers. Upon entering, Jungkook and Taehyung were overwhelmed by the vibrant colours. Children sat on a checked carpet, watching the TV. Rainbow-coloured beanbags were scattered around the room. Smiling characters were painted on the ceiling and walls, adding to the lively atmosphere. In the centre of the room, there were round tables with blue chairs. Taehyung and Jungkook's eyes were drawn to one specific table.

Seated at the table was Mini, engrossed in colouring with a purple crayon. He was focused on his colouring book and hadn't noticed the two men entering the room. Jungkook's gaze shifted to the plushie sitting beside Mini, while Taehyung's attention was captured by a stranger sitting next to Chimmy. Taehyung turned to Nurse Angela.

"Who is he?"

"Oh, he's Dr Kim Namjoon. He's a psychologist," Nurse Angela explained.

"Does he work at this hospital?" Taehyung inquired.

"No, he doesn't work here, but he comes to this hospital on some days. He has been helping me and Mini," Nurse Angela clarified.

"I see," Taehyung acknowledged. "Is he—"

"Tae," Jungkook interjected. "Let her tell us why she called us here."

Taehyung closed his mouth and shot Jungkook a glare. However, his glare subsided as Nurse Angela began to speak.
