Lan Zhan

Lan zhan walked with his brother, Wei Ying saying that he was busy with something and was no where to be found but had reassured that he would be fine and for the older not to worry about him, which worked a little, but Lan Was still worried about the younger man." So, do you know what Wuxian is up to?". Asked Xichen as Lan Zhan shook his head to show that he infact did not know what Wei Ying was up too." Hmm, interesting". Said Xichen." Because i saw him going in the forest, i wonder what he could be doing there". Said Xichen as Lan Zhan looked at him with a slight frown on his face." But don't worry too much little brother, he's fine out there". Said the older brother as he saw the slight concern on his younger brother's face.

Lan Zhan nodded as he relaxed his face.They continued walking, looking as some of the young disciples were training, some were studying and some were just walking and talked like the two Lan brothers were doing.

That day Lan Zhan had to teach a group of young disciples as in a couple of weeks there was an upcoming exam for the young men were they had to show their sword skills and how much they improved, and with Lan Zhan being the best in the clan, their uncle, Lan Qiren had insisted on Lan Zhan being the one that taught them just before the exam to really be sure that they were ready." Well i better get going, i have a class to teach, and so do you". Said Xichen as Lan Zhan nodded and said goodbye to his older brother. He walked until he saw the group of students that he was supposed to teach and stopped in front of them. He had never been good with kids, or people.

He wasn't good with his words and his cold exterior scared the kids and young disciples, all except for one that is, Lan Sizhui.

The kid had always looked up to Lan Zhan and always said that he wanted to be like him when he would be older, he was always respectful and like Lan Zhan, he respected all of the rules and had memorized all of them, he always had perfect grades and was very skilled in everything that he did.

Although there was one big difference, the younger was social, always had a soft smile and a gentle look on his face, a little like Wei Ying, which was understandable considering the fact that Lan Sizhui was practically raised by the two. Wei Ying had found him in the village where he used to go when he was still in the burial mounds and had decided to take him after the war had ended and Lan Zhan had been his teacher ever since, he had taught him all the rules.

Lan Zhan had always had a soft spot for the boy." Hello Hanguang-Jun". Said the students as they all bowed to Lan Zhan, who slightly nodded his head to bow back." Hello, today I will be testing your strength a d reflexes. You will each fight against me to see the areas your good in and the areas you need to work on, i will be easy on you seeing as you are still quite young, good luck". Said Lan Zhan in a strict voice as he looked at all of the students, already knowing their weak spots and their strengths.

The first student came up to him and Lan Zhan took out bichen, holding it on his side. The student jumped up and tried to attack from above, the attempt being stopped by Lan Zhan's sword as he pushed the younger back, making him stumble back and fall on the ground." You jumped, with no plan and lost". Said Lan Zhan as the rest of the students watched as the one on the ground got up, if this was going easy for Lan Zhan they did t even want to know what it felt like to actually fight with Lan Zhan, althought they knew that it probably wasn't fun for the person opposite of their Hanguang-Jun.

The next couple of students did the same thing, or at least attempted to do the same thing, some of them actually did get to fight with Lan Zhan for more than a couple of seconds, but in general Lan Zhan could have fought these kids while sleeping, but of course he will never say that because boating was forbidden in cloud recesses.

After the last student that went just now, only two were left, and one of them was Lan Sizhui, who was talking with the second student, Lan Jingyi about something, probably about how he was nervous.

It was now Jingyi's turn, the younger looked nervous but more then ready, he stepped forward and instead of straight up attacking Lan Zhan, he walked towards him, his sword by his side like Lan Zhan did and then tried attacking him, running towards the teacher as he hit him, but not from above or right infront but from the side, Lan Zhan was surprised, but of course he didn't let it snow as he moved back quickly and jumped above, Jingyi falling as he had tried to attack from the front. Jingyi had managed to fight the longest up until now, although he did end up falling and Lan Zhan put bichen to the side of his neck.

While all of that had happened, Sizhui observed all of them, being able to see what he could do and what Lan Zhan did.

AHe stepped forward after checking if Jingyi was ok and then slightly bowed to Lan Zhan to show respect as the older did the same.

Sizhui walked in a circle as Lan Zhan stayed in the middle, not letting his guard down as he listened the younger's footsteps. The younger came back to face Lan Zhan stepping closer to him by a couple of footsteps. He jumped and went over Lan Zhan to be behind him pulling out his sword as Lan Zhan turned around, but instead of attacking straight away he quickly went back to where he was, now being behind Lan Zhan once again as he then attacked, making Lan Zhan stumble as he took bichen and attacked Sizhui too. The younger blocked the attack and pushed the older off as he then flew up and attacked from above.

Lan Zhan that was already pushed back fell as Sizhui attacked from above and landed on him. Lan Zhan saw this as an advantage as he then turned around and was now on the student and then stood up and landed just besides Sizhui, who was laying on the floor trying to get up but stopped his movements as soon as he saw that Lan Zhan was holding his sword to his neck." Well done Sizhui, you have good technique but you would have been dead if your attacker did what i did so work on that". Said Lan Zhan as he helped the younger to stand up and all of the other students looked amazed at how Sizhui had been able to nock Lan Zhan down to the floor and push him off multiple times.

The young student smiled at the teacher and bowed to him, thanking him and walked back to his friend as the latter congratulated him. The class was done for that day but Lan Zhan was going to check up on them one last time the day before the exam to see if they would take his advice or not. He looked at all the students, making sure to remember all of their faces, names and what they did, how they did it and what he had done to make them lose.

He walked away after saying a small goodbye and went to the library to copy texts and probably read a book.
