"I want you guys to forget everything you know about the games. Last year was child's play. This year you're dealing with deadly trained killers" Haymitch says, while pointing his finger to the screen showing the tributes for this year.

"What does that mean for us?" Peeta asks trying to get comfortable in his seat but this isn't exactly a conversation where changing how your siting is gonna make you feel more comfortable.

"This means your going to have to make allies" Haymitch continues.

"Ok, I think if we ....."

"Woah you're not the problem" Haymitch states interrupting Peeta to turn to Katniss.

"No" The girl on fire bluntly states without even thinking.

"Look you're starting at a disadvantage. Most of these people have been friends for years"

"That just puts us higher on their kill list" The brunette girl says.

"Do it your way but I know these people. You go in it alone, their first move is going to be hunt you down" Haymitch says questioning his whole existence.

"How could any of us trust each other?" Katniss asks, questioning the drunk.

"It's not about trust, it's about survival"

"Brutus and Enobaria" Haymitch says pulling up the pictures of the tributes.

"What's with her teeth?" Katniss asks looking at the victors shark like teeth.

"She had them filed into fangs so she could rip out people's throats" Haymitch explains making the two tributes pull a face in disgust.

"She's committed, I'll give her that" Peeta jokes trying to lighten the mood but fails miserably.

"Moving to district 3, Wiress and Beetee. Not really fighters but brilliant and weird. Real tech - savvy. He won his games be electrocuting 6 tributes at once"

"We also have the Morphlings not much of a threat either. Master of camouflage, won their games by hiding until everyone else's was dead. Been self medicating since which I applaud"

Haymitch reached District 4.
He was quite close with Aurora since she won her games. He had respect for her because of how she can always see the light even in the darkness of times. After all, that is why she is known as sunshine.

"Finnick Odair, right?" Katniss asked the moment his faced popped up on scream. Of course she knew who he was. What girl didn't?

"Yes, he won his games at 14. Youngest male ever. Extremely humble" He joked about the golden hair boy on screen.

"You're kidding?" Katniss asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I'm kidding. He's a total peacock, total preener. But he's a Capitol darling. They love him there. Charming, smart, and very skilled in combat, especially in water" he partially lied, knowing Finnick wasn't actually like this. But it's what the Capitol wanted people to believe so it's the story he told.

"what about weaknesses?" Peeta asked nervously hoping there was at least something to use against him.

"Just one, his sunshine"
He said moving the slide show onto a picture of the brunette girl he viewed as a daughter.

"She volunteered for Mags. She was their mentor and practically raised them both after their games. Finnick will do his best to keep her alive. It will expose him" Haymitch admitted.

"I bet when it came down to it he wouldn't really protect her" Katniss blurted out.

"And why do you say that sweetheart?"

"I doubt he truly loves her. He's a cereal romantic, he has a new lover every week"

"Well Katniss, they are like two pieces of a puzzle that fit together perfectly. She is the most loved victor in the Capitol even more than Finnick. She won her games at the youngest age of 12. And she won't hesitate to kill you if it means going home to her son"

"She has a kid?" Katniss questioned with regret forming in her eyes.

"Her and Finnick have a son. Caspian or Cas for short after her partner Casper, who died in the 65th games, they were best friends. She has done everything in her power to protect Caspian from Snow, so she won't go down easily. If I was you I would be allies with the two rather than their enemies. After all, there is nothing stronger than a parents love"
