Have you ever wondered how hard it is for a rich individual to take control of a country using his money and connections?

News flash, it's actually really hard. Making the people of the country believe in you and elect you as the leader is one thing but making the corrupt politicians all around the world agree that you now rule the country is completely different.

The first blockade that I faced while trying to officially take over the country was the fact that countries all over the world found out that the massive earthquake that the entire world experienced during me and Magneto's fight came from Genosha.

So the first thing that came to their tiny minds was that Genosha was trying to invent nuclear weapons or some other super weapon to become a nuclear country. That of course made a lot of countries alert.

Most of them wanted control of Genosha and the millions of mutants living in it to increase their own nation's power. At this point, most governments knew about mutants and aliens. And most of them were really paranoid and controlled freaks to try to gather power to resist any future rebellion or invasion.

I could understand their mentality. I mean when you live in a world like Marvel where anything can happen at any time, you can't exactly have a good night's sleep without having some kind of a plan if anything goes wrong.

And the governments of most countries were making those plans by cutting open mutant and alien bodies and stealing any technology they could find their hands on. They were desperate. They needed to give their people some kind of hope or at least some kind of icon like Captain America.

And Genosha was the easiest way of currently gaining access to millions of active mutants, millions of potential research materials.

So the government especially the US and Russia fought tooth and nail to get access to Genosha. The US government because they wanted more power including getting several powered mutants under them and Russia because they wanted to know what happened to the sentinels they helped Trask make.

But of course, they didn't win against the power of well-spent money and the high enough political influence of Rudeus. Well then again, I did have to spend about one-fifth of my entire fortune to completely settle the political battle.

But I didn't care about money anymore. With Zoya, some of my future knowledge, and my Golden Rule perk, money just kept flowing into my accounts.

Genosha remained as a separate free country for metahumans while I got dual citizenship in the island country along with my US one. As for becoming its official 'king', I didn't really bother.

I wasn't gonna waste my carefree life by becoming a boring king and working all day. No, instead a council was set up headed by Selene to rule the island country.

The council consisted of the people who were either extremely loyal to me or mutants who genuinely wanted the betterment of the nation and the entire mutant-kind.

By the way, the word mutant was replaced in all the nation's documents and archives with the word metahuman. Even the terms mutant power or mutant ability were instead advertised to the population as quirks.

The Genoshan government under Rudeus' leadership was trying to completely change the people's thinking about mutants. Along with the vast rebuilding of the nation, there were also campaigns about metahumans being the same as humans, just with a gift from God, a unique quirk.

The word mutant was slowly being transformed into slang because of their targeted campaigns and instead, metahumans were becoming the norm.

Videos and Images about mutant harassment and inhumane mutant torture along with illegal experiments were released all over the global media channels and the internet to try to gather public opinion for metahuman kind.
