"I just... didn't want him to say weird things." He sighed, sheepishly looking at me. I giggled and continued to keep eye contact. I don't know how long, but it felt like we were looking into each other's eyes for a long time. I then broke the eye contact and he cleared his throat.

"Um, what are we... doing tonight Oli?"

~~~
I asked him, still flustered at the 'awkward' eye contact.
"We can do whatever." He said dryly, walking away and sitting at his desk. He was looking down, fidgeting with the string on his hoody. Even though he was looking down, I could tell he was blushing by the color of his ears. I smiled and sat on his bed.
"No need to be shy, Oli. We can stay here if you want." I suggested, biting my lip to try and hold back the urge to smirk. He turned towards me, still a little red. His lip was slightly out as if he was pouting. "Then what do you want to do?" He shrugged and I rolled my eyes.
"We can go to the park." I looked at him and sighed smiling.
"Alright, Oli. Let's go then." I went up to him and grabbed his hands pulling him out of the chair. He got flustered again but I kept pulling him towards the door, with one hand this time.
I opened the door and walked out seeing Joe sitting there with some food on the table. I stopped and looked at the food, hearing a light chuckle behind me. I looked at Oliver with a begging look. He sighed and nodded his head. I squeaked and went to sit but before I could, I looked towards Joe who was smirking at me.
"Knock yourself out." He waved his hand over everything and I smiled thankfully.
I went to pull out my chair but Oliver did it before I could. I smiled up at him and bowed a little, holding my 'dress' (or maybe you do actually have a dress on). I took a seat on the chair Oliver was holding and he pushed it in for me. I smiled at the action and nodded my head toward him once he sat next to me. He gave me a small smile back, but it wasn't enough for me to see his dimples which made me just a little disappointed.
We ate and talked about our lives and other funny events which we laughed at. Me and Oliver's brother, Joe, actually got along pretty well. He told us about times with him and Oliver. Awkward moments and even funny moments, making me laugh and Oliver embarrassed about his brother exposing him.
At some point we got to conversing about our families, making our voices and laughter die down, leaving us in an awkward silence. I started to bounce my legs up and down quickly, looking at the empty plate that I probably filled more than four times. I don't think any of us were ready to share personal information like that. I for sure wasn't. I felt a hand shyly fall onto mine on my lap, simultaneously also being on my jittery leg. I paused my movement and slightly tilted my head to glance up at Oliver who was blushing slightly, attempting to keep a stoic glance straight forward. Glanced back down at our hands and placed my other hand on top of his, squeezing gently. The redness of his face only darkened, squeezing my hand in return.
I looked to Joe, who looked to be feeling the same as me and Oli. I felt a sense of comfort in knowing that not everyone's families are perfect. I felt that if I told them, they won't tell anyone since they can relate... maybe even a little bit. I looked between them, already knowing some of their stories. I thought for a bit before making my decision.
"I haven't seen my family in a long time." I looked down at Oliver's hand still on mine. "But, I know that they love me no matter what. Near or far." I said smiling, the melancholic expression I dislike showing.
