I woke up and realized it was moving day. I sighed as I sat up and grabbed clothes. Since we were going to be on a plane, I grabbed sweatpants and a sweatshirt that says 'BVB ARMY FOREVER' on the front.
I walked into my bathroom and took a hot shower. I got dressed and put on a thin layer of mascara and eyeliner. I sat down on my bed as I got a FaceTime request on my iPhone 4s. I saw it was my best friend, Macie, and answered it.
"Good morning, sunshine!" She said in her normal, preppy voice. I honestly don't know how we became friends in the first place. Especially since I'm considered emo or gothic, and she is considered preppy or popular.
"Good morning, Mace," I replied glumly. Her smile faded as she realized that today was the day I was moving.
"Promise you won't forget me over there in America?" She asked, not so happy anymore.
"I promise. I will FaceTime you everyday before I go to bed, when you are waking up. I have too go. Love you, Mace," I replied.
"Sounds good, Lizzy. Love you too. Text me when you land in America," she said. I nodded and smiled and pressed the end button. I threw my phone to the other side of my bed. I buried my head in my hands.
I got up and pulled out my guitar and started to play a song I wrote called 'Temporary Home'. I sang the words gently.
"Little boy, 6 years old
A little too used to being alone
Another new mom and dad
Another school, another house that will never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up with a smile on his face
This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms I'm passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is my temporary home
Young mom, on her own
She needs a little help, got nowhere to go
She's looking for a job, looking for a way out
'Cause a halfway house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl
'Someday we'll find our place here in this world'
This is our temporary home, it's not where we belong
Windows and rooms we're passing through
This is just a stop on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know
This is our temporary home
Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers
'Dont cry for me, I'll see you all someday'
He looks up and says
'I can see gods face'
This is my temporary home, it's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passing through
This was just a stop on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know
This was my temporary home
This is my temporary home."
As I finish the song I heard crying from behind me. I look and see my mom in the doorway, crying.
"That was beautiful, Elizabeth. how come you never told me you wrote music?" She asked. I just simply shrugged. "I suppose we better leave. we want to catch our flight."
I put my guitar in its case and we headed for the airport.
---------------~~~~~~---------
(10 hours later)"Our flight is landing, please put on your seat-belts. Thank you for choosing the British Airlines," I hear coming from the speaker.
I grabbed my luggage after we landed and there was two drivers waiting for me and my mom. I looked over at her confused and she told me that Matt was rich. I nodded and followed my driver to my limo that Matt sent for me.
My driver put my bags in the trunk and opened the door for me. He soon came in the drivers seat.
"Hello, Miss Wolf. I'm Albert, and I will be your driver," he told me in his very American accent. He was an older man, looking to be in his mid 60s.
We soon arrived to a huge mansion and I was greeted by Matt.
"Hello, Elizabeth! This is Maria, one of our best maids and she will show you your room," he smiled. I nodded and followed Maria. We arrived to a room on the 3rd floor. She opened the door and revealed a huge bed with a walk-in closet, a huge king-sized bed, and a load of dressers and mirrors.
"Your bags with be up here shortly," Maria smiled. She also looked to be in here early 60s. I smiled back and nodded. I flopped on my bed when she closed the door. This is going to be an absolute journey.
