And then she fell, into his arms like a rainfall over an ocean.
Sidharth spoke something to her, or she heard. But all she could see were his eyes, his gaze burning her skin. He was powerful at his core, more than she had ever imagined, or maybe this was again a part of her imagination. She felt like hiding herself from his eyes and in that sudden moment sudden blackness descended upon her.
She fell and he felt her weight. She was lighter than a cotton candy. The area near the entrance was dimly lit,the warm lights that fell on her made her glow. While his arms bore her weight, his eyes would not let go of her. He moved his face a little back hoping his eyes would avert and let go of her, but they wouldn't let go of her. His eyes were stuck at the raindrops clinging to her skin as they moved down her face to her neck and then lower to her cleavage. Involuntarily his teeth grasped his lower lip. Her tousled hair, creating a mesmerizing sparkle under the dimly lit foyer, her cheeks flushed from the chilly rain, adding a delicate rosy hue to her fair complexion. He kept looking at her, his fingers itching to touch her skin, but he couldn't and wouldn't.
"Miss....?" He spoke looking at her, wanting to call her by her name, but the word failed to come out of his lips.
"Miss...?" He spoke again realizing that he needed to wake her up.
His hands went around her body and he lifted her up in arms, his eyes still stuck to her.
The fragrance of wet earth and her subtle perfume filled the air going to his lungs, creating an intoxicating blend that made him feel a sense of enchantment. Her drenched clothes cling to her figure, outlining her curves in a way that leaving him captivated yet conflicted. His fingers ached to touch her face, but the realization of their professional relationship, her being alone with him at his home, his history and her state kept him away. .
He walked to the couch softly, her head resting against his chest, and the rhythmic beat of his heart echoed the feelings swirling inside him.Sidharth bent down placing her there, the softness of her skin against his, felt strangely intimate, making him question the boundaries, as he stepped back. His eyes fell on her, lying there, her vulnerability tugged at his heartstrings.
He moved a little far and then suddenly his fingers moved to her eyelashes, and as he gently brushed away the drops of water over them. His heart fluttered with an unexplainable connection.
In the dim light of the house, her face appeared angelic, and he wondered if fate has orchestrated this moment to bring them together in a way he never imagined. The thought shook something in him, his heart fluttered, a sense of fear and helplessness. A subtle sense of déjà vu lingered."Take it!" He spoke passing her the glass of water as she sat there rubbing her eyes.
"I am sorry, Sir. I did not intend to cause to trouble!" She spoke looking at him, as her fingers gripped the borocil just a millimeter away from his fingers.
Sidharth noted how she placed her fingers away from his grip. "You should take something, i have asked my staff to get you something to eat. Maybe your BP just fell."
Shehnaaz looked at him and nodded. "Mayank must have told you sir, about my arrival. I hope you were expecting me? Hopefully I did not arrive as a surprise!" She spoke.
Sidharth stepped away from her and stood at the edge of the area she was sitting in. He needed to keep a safe distance from her. "No, not that. I knew it was someone, who exactly I did not know."
"Hmm.."Shehnaaz spoke again. The man that stood ahead of her was on a court hearing, something around mentally harassing his wife, a series of physical assaults as well. She didn't know the details of his case in the family court for divorce but that was all she had heard. But this right now, was a trial for murder that he had been accused of ,A guy, apparently the lover of his wife, well thats what his stand was. "If its okay with you, we can talk about the case, i would like to leave in sometime." She spoke again,.hoping not to stay in his presence. Not only was he intimidating, but probably he had a history of violence too. Not that he would harm her, he was her client and thus she was safe, but she didn't want to test her luck further.
