Delilah, Maya, Anna, Connie, and Becca were all assigned to do a group project on osteoporosis. Maya and Anna were trying to make the house more presentable, and Delilah sat awkwardly on the couch since she had arrived early.
"Okay. They're gonna be here like, any minute," Maya said, rushing to hide all of the objects that represented her culture, earning a disgusted glare from Delilah.
"I know," Anna replied.
"Did you bring your mom's shopping bag?" Maya asked, closing a drawer.
"Oh, yeah," Anna grinned, handing Maya the bag. "Chanel, baby. You want tape, too?"
"Yeah, thanks," Maya said, walking over to a wall to tape the bag on.
"Why are you guys taping a Chanel bag onto the wall?" Delilah asked in confusion.
Anna rolled her eyes. "To impress Connie and Becca and to show that we're like, rich. Okay, we have the milk cups... what else do we need?"
Maya began pacing around the living room. "Okay, we have some clothes, Lila brought the camera, and Connie's gonna be bringing... more clothes."
"I just hope that they take this project seriously because osteoporosis is not a joke," Anna said, running her fingers through her hair. "Like, my grandmother had it and it devastated my father. He hasn't really been the same."
"Hey, buttlords," Shuji snickered as he walked in with his friend. "And Lila. What're you doing?"
"Shuji, go away," Maya whined. "We're working on a like, serious project. Hello?"
"Hey Shuj," Anna said, her voice being a pitch ten times higher than usual. "What up?"
Maya noticed her behavior and tried to do the same. "Hey, Evan," she giggled.
"Hey," the boy said, getting up from tying his shoes.
"What's up with you?" Maya nervously asked.
"We was gonna go see Cast Away again," he replied, pointing at the door.
Maya began playing with her hair. "I like your hair today," she said, attempting to flirt.
"Um, my mom wanted me to give this to you before we left," Shuji said, reaching into his pocket and then flipping them off instead.
"Don't flick me off!" Maya whined, while Anna goofily smiled and flipped him off in return. "Bye, Evan."
"Later, Lila," Shuji said, with Evan sending her a nod as he walked out the door.
"Your brother is fine," Anna whispered to Maya, earning a shove.
"Forreal," Delilah laughed.
"Guys, stop. Like, that's disgusting," Maya complained. "Okay, did you bring the snacks?"
"Hell yeah!" Anna said, diving to dig through her backpack. "Gushers, cheetos. Just like you requested.
"Perfect," Maya said, flinching when she heard someone knocking at the door. "Oh my God, they're here. They're here."
She nervously walked over to the door and counted down from three before she opened it.
"Hey."

"Thanks for like, coming over, you guys," Maya said.
"We had to for school," Becca said, sounding slightly annoyed. "Obviously."
"Oh yeah. Obviously," Maya replied. "Is anyone... hungry?"
She pointed at the sad selection of a singular small bag of cheetos and Gushers. Anna raised her hand, signaling for Maya to grab the bag and open it. Delilah had to hold back her vomit when she saw Maya taking out her retainer and placing it on the table.
