8. Wild Things

Deiliah weakly smiled as Maya and Anna walked over to her locker with huge grins on their faces.

"Oh my God, everyone's talking about us," Anna exclaimed, standing next to Delilah.

"Wait, why? Did something happen?" she asked.

Maya stifled a laugh and leaned over to whisper to Delilah. "Anna and Brendan are totally going to have their first kiss tonight."

"Shh!" Anna said. "He's right there. Stop. I'm serious, please stop. Don't look."

"Hey," Brendan said. "Are you-are you coming tomorrow night?"

"Um... I think so?" Anna nervously responded. "What's the movie about?"

"It's about hairless wild snatch," an older boy snickered as he passed by in the halls. 

"Ew!" Maya cried, looking over at Anna. 

"I actually saw it in the theatres," Brendan's friend added, adjusting his backpack. "And I jizzed all over the place."

"Really?" Brendan groaned, punching his friend on the arm. "Shut up! So are you in?"

"Um, okay," Anna said, looking back at her friends. "Can Maya and Lila come?"

"Uh, yeah. Sure," he shrugged.

"Oh, cool," Delilah smiled. "We'll see you tomorrow, then."

"Bye!" Maya called after them as they left.

"What if Brendan wants to kiss me tomorrow?" Anna hesitantly asked, playing with her stuffed animal. "I don't know if I want to."

"You don't?" Maya exclaimed in surprise.

"He tried last time, and it just felt like, really weird and unnatural, but it's like, why? I'm hot, he's hot, like..." Anna mumbled.

Delilah held her hand reassuringly. "It's totally fine if you're not ready, 'Na. You don't have to already have your first kiss in middle school. You can wait."

"I think he's gonna," Maya said. "Maybe it's gonna feel natural on Saturday. Like, it won't be as weird as that time."

"Maybe," Anna sighed. 

"Anna, it's so simple. It's like," Maya said as she turned around on the bed and began making out with the bedpost. "It's like this."

"Maya, please stop," Delilah laughed. "I don't wanna watch you make out with Anna's bed."

"I don't know," Anna groaned, getting up to copy whatever Maya was doing.

Delilah awkwardly chuckled while both of her friends were doing... whatever that was considered. Everyone froze when Anna's dad opened the door.

"Hey, Anna, did you...?" he asked, causing Maya to scream and fall off the bed.

"Dad! Get out! Maya's literally like, naked!" Anna yelled. 

"I was just looking for my Discman," he defensively said, holding up his hands. 

"Get out!" Anna shrieked, causing her dad to leave and close the door quickly.

"What the hell just happened?" Delilah asked, her eyes wide open.

At night, when they were all lying on Anna's bed together, Maya rolled over to face Anna while Delilah was sleeping.

"I don't think I'm gonna go tomorrow," she whispered. 

"Why?" Anna mumbled, half asleep.

"'Cause I'm not invited," Maya said.
