However, she was sure they'd survive the rift. She'd just give him a few days before texting him. By the time summer ended, by the time James came back from his three month trip to his grandparents in North Carolina, they'd be okay again.
James Alcott spent the 8-hour car ride to North Carolina, grieving his relationship with the love of his life, Betty Harper. The fight the night before wouldn't leave his mind. Those words she had said basically meant they had broken up. So when he began to feel sparks fly between him and his old friend, Augustine Fisher, he went decided it was the perfect chance for a summer love. Something to get his mind off of Betty.
