Kalos was a very interesting place in Red's opinion, with the show cases and gym runs though Pokemon contests were still a new concept. Green was more interested in the mega evolution that Professor Sycamore was researching about. Red had to admit the idea of bonding with Pokemon and helping them reach a stronger form was fascinating and out of story books. His Charizard was fascinated by the mega evolutions and wanted it.

Green, "Venasaur is very interested in finding a mega stone."

Red, "Charizard too, though Pidgeot and Pikachu are not interested."

Green, "Not surprising there considering they take a lot of pride in being bonded to us without any item."

Red chuckled as they enjoyed the calm environment of Laverre City. The City was known for it's Fairy type gym and it's many club houses which were scattered across the City. The club houses were one of the main tourist attractions which brought in money for the City. Green even enjoyed going to some of them, they were really sweet and classy. He had worried the members might have been uptight but that was not the case.

Red, "I hear Alain is going to challenge Diantha soon."

Green, "Oh ho! The kid with the scarf?"

Red nodded, "He wants to do a mastery in mega evolution. A very difficult route considering the lack of information on it."

Green, "Yes, but then again most worth while goals definitely are difficult."

Red, "Do you think we could watch his battle before returning home?"

Green, "Most definitely, we could even act as witness to the while thing. As we are ex - Champion's and all."

Red laughed and a few days later they were both watching the fight for the title between Alain and Kalos star Diantha. Her co - Champion Yvonne was currently working with the Rangers who were dealing with poachers. Red was very impressed by the mega evolutions young Alain especially the mega Charizard and mega Metagross. It was impressive he mastered two mega evolutions. Green remembered when they ran into Alain, the dark haired teen was surprised to see them in Kalos.

But the surprise soon faded into excitement as he requested a challenge. Red was amused by the politeness but agreed to the challenge witnessing Charizard's mega evolution for the first time. It was apparently Charizard's first time using the form and it was obvious they needed more training. Alain wanted their perspective however on how to go about it as Red was a fellow Charizard trainer and Champion. Alain had stuck around them after that meeting Mewtwo as well. The genetic Pokemon curious about the evolution.

Alain and Mewtwo had hit it off talking about mega evolution and what they knew about it currently. Mega stones were difficult to find and not easily accessible to everyone. So, it made the study difficult but Alain was stubborn and determined. He was also down to his final Pokemon against Diantha's final Pokemon. Green and Red watched with excitement as mega Charizard and mega Gardevoir fought. It was a very close battle and Alain won by a mere whisker.

They congratulated Alain and acted as witnesses before returning to Kanto. They were just in time for Ash and Gary to start their own journey with their Pokemon. The two were tempted to follow them but the Professor talked them out of it. But soon enough they almost got a heart attack when they got a call from them the next morning recalling what they went through. First a flock of Spearrow attacked, then a Gyarados and finally Team bloody Rocket!

Red was furious hearing the last one but Gary assured them they were safe. Not to forget they had help from Misty who had stayed the night at Viridian. Green however told them to get to the gym, he wanted to check on them himself and share proper breakfast. The teens perked up at the thought of home made food and readily agreed. Red was thankful to Green and when Ash entered through the door glomped him hard. Misty was gaping at them while Green and Red checked then over.
