One thing I truly admire about my dad is his unwavering dedication. Throughout his time with Mercedes, he has faced numerous challenges, but his determination to keep the team at the top level never wavered. Not even when he had to cope with the loss of Niki Lauda, or when Lewis missed out on the title to Max in 2021.

This weekend, I tried to embody his spirit and remained determined to conduct all the interviews, regardless of any personal issues with any of the drivers. However, it was a bit challenging with Carlos around. The strange energy between us, coupled with the fact that he didn't finish the race, seemed to affect his mood after today's race. Fortunately, I immediately followed up by interviewing Lando, who had an impressive climb of eight places. Lastly, I had the privilege of interviewing Charles, the race winner. Our conversation extended beyond the interview as we walked together towards the paddock canteen. Charles turned out to be one of the sweetest people I've met in the entire paddock during the past few weeks. We exchanged stories about his girlfriend Charlotte and my university studies, and our chat continued until we reached the canteen entrance.

As we entered, I spotted Lando and Carlos sitting together by the window. There were two empty seats, and Charles suggested we join them. I hesitated, fearing the potential awkwardness, but Charles approached them without any hesitation. With a deep breath, I approached the table as well.

"Yeah, um..." Carlos replied to the previous thing Lando said. When we approached, I could sense his relief that he didn't have to continue his thought.

"Oh, hey, guys!" Lando greeted us, with a hint of disappointment in his tone due to the interruption.

"Do you mind if we join you?" I asked, sensing that we might have picked an inconvenient moment.

"No, not at all," Carlos quickly responded, and to my relief, Charles sat down next to him. I was nervous about talking to Carlos, but surprisingly, it went much smoother than I had expected. It felt like things were getting back to normal as we discussed the race at length, and I couldn't help but actually look forward to the party later.

I'm kind of loving these notes at the end of each part :) Anyways, just wanted to say, this part is a bit shorter because I'll be posting a second part on Tuesday! It is a bit unusual for my posting schedule, but I'd like to post yet another part on Thursday ;)
