Maya was currently on her way to Lucas'. She got up this morning, got ready and dressed in something casual but still of course well designed. She felt drained, like she had no sleep. Her mind was running.

She pulled into the parking lot, and made her way into the building. She entered the elevator, and as each floor went up she felt her stomach drop lower. She finally reached the top, the doors opening. She stepped into the familiar apartment.

"Hey" Lucas was at the dining table. He stood, and they made their way toward each other. He hugged her nicely, kissing the top of her head. She sat beside him on the couch "how are you" he asked politely.

"Confused" she replied simply, her eyes met his, he looked sad. He nodded, "Yeah. Me too" he mumbled. She furrowed her eyebrows, "what's..what's going on..I've been feeling sick all night" she created a small amount of distance between them

"I'm sorry, I can understand that. I didn't mean to make you feel anxious" he kept the same, calm tone. But she could tell even he was unsure with what he was saying. "Yeah well it's hard not to when we haven't seen each other for two weeks then you say you wanna talk" she chuckled nervously.

He replicated a small smile, nodding in agreement "just say it" she looked down to her hands, they were anxiously picking at her polish. He grabbed one, and held it in his hand, his eyes focused on them instead of her eyes.

"I had a meeting at work a couple weeks ago..the one I told you was a potential project..?" He started, "I remember" she nodded for him to continue, "it turns out the project was actually..a really good opportunity for the company. And it was expand our growth and reach by thousands" he continued

"What do you mean? What is it?" she asked confused. "We are creating our own rehabilitation clinic, which will be for people who come out of the prison and who aren't educated or emotionally and mentally ready. It is like a second stop before going back to communities where they will be taught and make connections and will have councillors..there's so much to it. It will be really great" he explained

"It sounds great.." she laughed, still a hint of nervousness "..you wanted to tell me you were opening a rehab clinic?" She asked, and yes she was till confused. He nodded.

He took a deep breath, "I'm moving to london" he exhaled. And that was it. Silence.

"You're..you're what?" She shook her head, pulling her hand from his "it's for 6 months while we build the clinic..so I can oversee the project.." he said quietly "No..Why do you have to go? Why can't someone else do it? What about the New York office?" She asked

"Because I'm the ceo, I'm in charge I have to. Farkle is going to run the New York office for the 6 months I'm gone" he explained. "Farkle knew? Does Riley know too?" Maya sounded hurt

He shook his head, "Riley doesn't know" he stated. "How long have you known?" She looked back to him, her eyes were brimming with tears "I..I knew from the meeting that it wasn't going to be in America. I only found out yesterday where. And then I called you" he kept his same hushed tone.

She rose almost immediately, wiping a tear from her eye, "you've known for two weeks?" She hissed "is that why you've been avoiding me" she added. He didn't meet her gaze, "I didn't want to face it..I don't want to leave you Maya I really don't, but I have to" he stated

"What? You didn't want to face what? Breaking up?" She let another tear fall from her eye. He shook his head yet again, his hands rubbing his eyes sorely. He raised his head, seeing the blonde with tears streaming her face

"Is this why you weren't ready for a relationship? Back when I interviewed you? Because you just leave?" She couldn't understand. He sighed, "No! The project wasn't brought up to us until the other week. No such thing existed back then. And I'm sorry about how this is going, I'm truly sorry and I wish it was different" he defended, his eyes meeting hers.

She shook her head for the 10th time of the conversation, "you called me over here to break up with me.." she whispered to herself, she felt fooled "I don't want to break up, if that's what you want then.." he trailed off

"Don't make this my fault! You're the one leaving" she spat back, "you know it wouldn't work" she added. His gaze remained on the floor. He felt ashamed. "When do you leave?" She whispered

"Maya I-" he started before she cut him off, "don't Maya me. When do you leave?" She hissed, this time it was angry, this time it was loud. He raised his head

"Tomorrow" he looked her dead in the eye.

She felt her lip tremble, more and more tears uncontrollably streaming down her face. He stood and took a step toward her, his hand out for her. She took a step back, shaking her head "don't" she whispered "just don't" she added

She brushed past him, picking up her jacket on the way past and headed to the elevator. He watched as the blonde entered the small box, their eyes met for one last time as the doors closed, separating the two.

She bit on her lip as hard as she could, wiping her eyes as much as possible in the glass walls before exiting and speeding to the car with her head down.

Lucas stared at the glass on the table, picking it up and throwing it against the concrete wall to his left. He was angry. He didn't want this to happen. Everywhere in his apartment reminded him of her, there's even makeup in the drawers of the bathroom, her shampoo in the shower. At least he was getting away.

Once maya returned home, she opened and slammed the front door to their apartment. She glanced over to Riley and Farkle who sat on the couch, a concerned look on their faces. She knew it wasn't his fault, but right now she couldn't even look at him.

She began walking past them, "Maya I-" Farkle started before she cut him off "Farkle. Don't" she didn't stop, heading to her room and slamming that door as well.

She turned on her shower, undressed herself and climbed into it. Sitting on the floor in fetal position crying.

Who knew breaking up with someone you've only been going out with for a few months could hurt this bad?..
