James' POV

This doesn't feel right. Bella is late to the throne room to meet her father this morning. We knights stand in our regular places, holding our swords and watching the King and Queen stressing about the whereabouts of their daughter. I don't know why she is so late. The last time I saw her, I was kissing her goodnight. When I kissed her at the ball, I got all tingly. That wasn't my plan at first, but when we danced, I just couldn't help myself. And not a single part of me regrets any part of that night. Even when we stopped kissing, she pulled me into another. We danced until our feet hurt, and I walked her to her bedroom. That was the last time I saw her.

Suddenly, the doors swing open, and the last two guards who aren't standing with us storm into the room. They look terrified as they run up to the thrones, bowing at waiting to be allowed to speak.

"Your Majesty, Princess Isabella is not in her room." One of them exclaims.

"I'm sorry?" The Queen jumps from her throne.

"She is not in her bedroom and we have searched the entire castle. She is not here."

My grip on my sword tightens, my fists hurting underneath my armour. As knights, it is our job to take care of the princess, and we have failed. She is gone and no one knows where she is. The thought that she was just in the village secretly did pass my mind, but she wouldn't do it first thing in the morning of an important meeting. She knows when to leave and how to get back. She wouldn't risk her safety and secrecy for one meaningless trip to the village.

"Well, where is my daughter?" The King declares.

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, we do not know."

"We must find her. You will find where my daughter is and you will bring her to us." His voice booms.

"Darling, do you have any idea where she could be?" The Queen asks.

"No," He stops to think. "Well, Prince Rumlow did ask me for permission to take her to his castle to marry her sooner but that would have been today. This is what the meeting is about." He takes a deep breath. "You will find my daughter and bring her back to me. If Rumlow has taken her, I will need your help in my next plans."

Everyone starts to fizzle out of the room, getting ready to search the castle one more time before we must go to Rumlow's castle to save her. Hopefully, this will convince the King and Queen that Rumlow isn't the right person to marry his daughter. But, a part of me thinks they will still go through with this. The kingdom needs this marriage and the trading with the other kingdom, so they will most likely still send her away with Rumlow. They'll probably just tell him off and send him away with his daughter.

I can't let that happen.

I've been apologizing to Bella that I can't do anything to help her, but now is my chance. I can finally do something to save her, so I will be utilizing this. I stay behind as the rest of the guards rush around the castle, trying to find her. They won't, Rumlow most defiantly took her. I creep into the map room, grab the map with the kingdom's island and surrounding islands, and shove it into my brown leather bag.

I'm getting Bella back.
