The Keeper

22 5 2

I am the keeper of secrets,

the teller of lies,

My ears take it in

and my mouth seals it shut

False truths can be told

when one cannot see

the border

between true and false

Its all like a quiz;

retain what is told,

give back what is wanted,

but never know your own

sewing thread born

of colours and joy,

keep pleading lungs

from letting it out

I am the keeper of lies,

and the teller of secrets,

My ears turn away

and the mouth betrays
