Chapter 6

"JACOB BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU'RE HITTING THAT ball!" Billy shouted not too far from us. Me and the boys have been playing for about 30 minutes. I was on Embry's team with Seth and winning whilst Quil was with Jacob

"I need a break!" Quil shouted as he laid on the floor. We all stopped and I jogged over to my dad who was leaning against a table as he spoke to his friends as they tossed stuff on the grill. Of course my dad wasn't doing anything since he didn't have a cooking ability

He was barely capable of making toast

"Here you go" dad said handing me a water bottle once he saw me come up beside him. I took a sip and placed it back down
"How is it?" Charlie asked nervously. I could tell he was worried about if they were being nice to me. And thankfully these boys were

"Good. Thank you dad" I brought him into a hug not thanking him for asking, but thanking him for giving me the opportunity to meet these nice people

"Your welcome" the next time the door opened leah came walking out, a snarl on her face as she walked up to Jacob and his friends

Sue came walking out a second later and behind her three boys followed. It seemed everyone on the reservation were tanned and these boys fit that, though they are more muscular than most of the people i've seen here

The boys looked around for a moment and once the tallest one caught sight of Jake's dad he walked over, the other two following behind

They adults and boys all greeted each other, even dad who had obviously spoken to them more times than me

"This is my daughter Athena, or Thea. She doesn't mind either" dad said placing his hands on both my shoulders. The boys looked down at me and I gave them a small smike

"Nice to meet you" Sam said nodding his head
"This is paul and Jared. And don't worry, Paul's face is just naturally angry" once Paul realised sam was talking about him his face straightened out before we all laughed at him

My eyes glanced outside as even more adults started to turn up

"You guys go mingle. Foods ready in about 5 minutes"

"No one says mingle old man" Jared laughed at Harry, clapping the mans back

Once we had all ate most of the kids seemed to sit around the same area though the 2 groups seemed to not converse that much at all

I walked into the kitchen and filled up my water bottle

"Running away?" I head a voice and turned to see Seth standing there

"No, I just needed a bit of quiet. Especially with how tense it is out there" Seth let off a small laugh

"That I can't disagree with. I could practically feel Sam getting stabbed from the daggers leah was sending him"
