(First Person POV)We had just gotten done being galaxy savers once again, and boy, were we tired. Some more than others, but one in particular being more tired than the rest. Now I don't want to play victim, but dealing with shit mentally whilst being in an environment we're in? It's worse than you'd think.
I've always struggled with stuff mentally, for I don't know how long. I've never really had anyone to talk to about the way I feel. I can't tell the Guardians about it because it would never end well. Mantis and Peter are the only ones to know, Peter understanding more than Mantis.
Peter's been there for me since before we became a part of the Guardians, and I appreciate him so much for all he's done for me. Hell, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have slight feelings for him. Knowing him for as long as I have, being with him through thick and thin and just knowing him as a person? No wonder I fell for him.
Anyway, we were all over the ship when Peter had called us into the main area, to which he was sitting in a pilot's seat alongside Kraglin, who was putting in coordinates for a planet. "Quill, what is it you needed that was so urgent you called us here?" Drax questions aa he walks over to Peter's seat and grips the head of the chair.
"Well, Drax, we're all tired from being galaxy heroes, so I thought we could use a break." Rocket triumphs, "That is the best idea you've ever had!" The rest of the Guardians start to chatter among themselves, but I start to zone out, not paying any attention.I come back to reality when a hand makes its way to my shoulder, and I see Peter look at me with slight concern. "Hey, you doing okay?" A small smile forms on my face, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just tired." He nods, still concern written on his face. He goes to say something, but the ship jolts slightly, causing the two of us to wobble a bit.
I grip a chair near me whilst getting a bit more stable by grabbing a hold of Peter's arm, which coincidently find it's way onto my waist to keep us both from falling. I pull away from his hold and look out at the planet in front of us. I glance back to see Peter looking at me with the tiniest hint of sadness after I pull out of his grip, but brush it off and look back out.
Once we reached a gorgeous civilisation-free zone on a planet, we all set into motion what we were doing to relax.
Groot had wandered off behind the ship (cue I am Groot Ep. 4) with Rocket following behind to make sure he wouldn't get into trouble. Drax had already fallen asleep near a tree, Mantis being the cause, who was also asleep near Drax. Gamora was sitting on some grass near the ship, sharpening and polishing her blade, and Peter was making his way out of the ship, Zune in pocket and earphones in. Kraglin stayed on the ship, saying he needed to practice more with the Yaka Arrow away from anyone in case he hurt anyone again (Poor Drax).
I, on the other hand, had already made a run for the forest near where Groot and Rocket were heading. I needed a break from being on the ship, I was starting to get a migraine. I feel that the only way I can relax is just by being alone for a while. I had already asked Peter to come get me when we're leaving, so they all knew to leave me alone for a bit.
I find a nice quiet spot with a giant tree to perch underneath. The roots curved around the bumpy ground, travelling on for what seemed to be miles. The tree itself is at least 100 feet tall, a gorgeous palette of colours winde around the tree. There's a massive body of water near the tree, and a beautiful reflection of the surrounding forest could be seen on the water.
I find a spot up against the tree and breathe a sigh of relief, cracking my bones to try and relieve some tension in the muscles. I shut my eyes and listen to the noises of the forest, the creatures living around the area, and feel myself get lulled into sleep. As I'm stuck in dream land, a very distant shout startled me awake, making me jolt upright.
