(First Person POV)

Having insomnia is always a massive pain, but when you live in space, it can only get worse. The different time zones on each planet we travelled to or stayed on made it harder to get a decent sleeping routine, but pairing that with insomnia never helps.

Laying in my bed as I stare at my ceiling, the soft sounds of snores accompanied by quiet game music make the room have a comfortable atmosphere, but it doesn't make me feel tired just yet. Sighing, I sit up and see my two best friends sprawled out on their beds, Rocket's fur being matted and messed with drool on his face.

Meanwhile, Groot had a gentle smile on his as he slept, holding onto a small plush I had gotten him when he was a little twig. I smile at the sight but still feel a little envious at how easy these two could fall asleep. 'Why can't you make me fall asleep that easily, brain? Useless piece of..' I trail away from my thoughts when my stomach rumbles, my mind now being flooded with the idea of food.

Getting out of bed and quietly tip-toeing my way out of the room, I head to the kitchen area to go rummage through the place for my favourite snack. Going through cupboards, cabinets, and the fridge, I couldn't find them anywhere. "I didn't eat all of them, did I..?" Mumbling to myself, I got the idea to check the bins for any traces of the wrappers.

To my despair, I find every single one of my snacks wrappers tossed into the bin. Groaning in annoyance, I plop myself onto a seat nearby and begin to sulk as my stomach continues to ask for food. Thinking back to when I could've eaten them, I remember Mantis and Drax asking if they were my favourites and Mantis having a panicked expression on her face when I said yes.

"Mant.." Sighing, I sit and sulk for another few minutes. That is, until I remembered that we were currently parked near a small town that could possibly have a shop with some amazing food I could have. Looking at my pyjamas I'm currently wearing, which were a cosy pair of long bottoms and a baggy-ish top, I jumped up from my seat with a smile and made my way back to my room.

Slipping inside and side step over to my bed and yank my favourite hoodie from the corner, throw it on over my head, then turn to my bedside to grab some units. Putting the money into my pocket, I make my back to the door, but jump and nearly yelp out in surprise when I hear a voice. "I am Groot?" I hold a hand over my heart as I turn back to the groggy sounding tree, seeing him rub his eyes to rid them of sleep.

'Where are you going?' I crouch down to him so he doesn't have to strain on turning to face me, whispering so I don't wake Rocket. "Can't sleep, got hungry, I ain't got any snacks, so I'm going out into the town to see if I can find anything there." I smiled at him after I finished.

Hearing a tiny gasp and seeing his eyes basically sparkle, a smile grows onto his face as he turns to sit in front of me with his legs crossed and him moving around all giddy like. "I am Groot?" I chuckle at his happy antics. 'Can I come with you?' Putting on a questioning face as I place a hand under my chin, I stand up and reach a hand out him to take.

"Of course you can," glancing at Rocket, who still was completely out of it, I smirk. "Just don't tell your dad, or he'll kill me." As he stands, still holding onto his little plush, he moves his hand up to his mouth and makes a zipping motion before 'tossing away the key'. Chuckling and shaking my head, I open my room door a little further so we can both exit.
