Ruby wakes up in a cold sweat. She had terrible nightmares about the battle of atlas and all the tragedies that she and her team had faced. She leans up and looks around the room. She was a bit dazed, she half expected her dorm from atlas but it wasn't. She got up and looked out the window. She took in, this new world. A world without semblances, without Grimm or Salem, without the corruption of the kingdoms and the struggle for power. Ruby knew that this world wasn't perfect. A plague that spread like wildfire had caused this world to fall. Millions dead and reanimated into a shell of their former selves cursed by an endless hunger. She knew from all the zombie movies that she and yang had watched were tragic. Cities fall, their military's crumbles. She knew that it was terrible that people dying and coming back was terrible but she had to watch from a screen. It was all fake, written, and directed, but now ruby is seeing it first hand. She looked back at the bed. She packed crescent rose and her old clothes into a bag Alex had given her. She's glad that Alex was the person that found her, he was kind but it was obvious that he was in her position as well. Tired. Tired of loss, tired of plans going to hell, tired of being the one to call shots. That's what they both had in common. She imagined that if anyone else had found her that they would have left her behind or would have even killed her. She walks out into the hallway bag on her back. She was reminded of when she left her home in patch to venture out to haven academy. She peaks into Alex's room to see nothing there. She walks into the living room and then Into the kitchen where alex is sitting at the table looking down at his weapons. Ruby leans on the wall.

Ruby: I'm not really sure how things exactly work around here but I think we should go now that it's morning.

Alex: yeah...yeah of course. Hilltop is at least 20 miles away, I'm not really a math guy so I'm not exactly sure.

Ruby: So what exactly is hilltop.

Alex: well it's like Alexandria just a bit smaller, you'll know when you get there. It's not exactly like you get to pick or choose.

Ruby sits down in front of alex.

Alex: you're gonna have to hide your scythe. It'll bring unwanted attention and I'm assuming the sniper part of it ain't exactly quiet. So I'm gonna have to show you some primitive technology by your world's standards.

Ruby looks a bit sad that she has to leave crescent rose but she understands it.

Alex: don't be down, I'll tell you what. I'll keep it safe here. I'll hold onto it until you really need it

Ruby smiles a bit

Ruby: well okay. I did say that I loved learning about new weapons besides you guys aren't so advanced, so I'd assume you'd have swords, knives and stuff like that right.

Alex: you'd be correct.

Alex grabs his machete and points it to her.

Alex: this was my dad's. He killed a lot of assholes with this.

(Alright just for it to make sense because the red machete webisodes show the red machete going back to it's original owner after it had been taken by the saviours and a lot of other shit. Well with Alex around let's say negan saw Alex In the line up saw that he looked badass and kept a close eye on him. Then when the saviours did their first pickup. Alex tried to get the red machete back but a guy said no. So he punched him and took it and negan let it slide. So that's why he still has it)

She looked at the machete with a red handle. She admired the simplicity and the emotional attachment.

Ruby: wow this looks nice.

Alex: heh, not so nice after a fair day's use.

Ruby chuckles a little bit.

Ruby: so what am I going to be using.
