The party scene

Adelaide didn't even want to be at this party but her dad insisted for the sake of her uncles sanity that she go with her cousins only to find out they already had a ride and she's even more surprised when it's Patrick. She arrives at the party after taking her own car there bored already she grabs a drink and stands by the wall

-a few minutes later she runs into Patrick
"So, are you going to tell me why you're here with kat?" says Adelaide, she looks at Patrick "or do you want me to assume?" she adds "you wouldn't believe me even if i told you the truth" He says not making eye contact with her " of course" she crosses her arms

" don't do that" he looks at her "do what?" shes glaring now " this, this whole act " he says gesturing at her " Really an act you think i'm that delusional to not recognize that something is off with this whole kat thing" he stops her " we said we wouldn't do this" he says " Do wh-" "the jealousy" she steps back from him bumping into others " Jealousy" her face turns to hurt again

" are you serious" she says as she holds back tears " yeah, yeah i am" his voice trails off as he looks over her, adelaide follows his gaze to see him watching kat as she goes to climb on the table and he walks away. she makes her way through the party going into the bathroom she takes a moment to collect herself.

she walks around a little bit more having a few drinks as she goes " Joey" She says pulling his attention away from the group of girls he's entertaining "can we go" She says and he gives her a confused look she looks at the girls and steps closer to him leaning to his ear and whispering "i'll meet you outside".

as she waits on the other side of the lawn she sees patrick and kat and sighs shaking her head 'her dad is going to lose his mind" she says quietly "huh?" says joey as he walks over to her " nothing" she replies she looks over at patrick and kat before walking away to find joey's car he jogs to catch up with her after seeing who she was looking at " you know you don't have to be worried about them " he says "Sure i don't, you see the way they look at each other" he laughs and she gives him a look "lets just say i have a source and anyways there's no way he's over you" He says leaning towards her as they walk she smiles as they make to his car, he opens the door for her and closes t as well " i'd hope so" she says as he gets in he starts the car and turns to her " where do you want to go?" he asks

"anywhere"
