Kaldur sighed and looked around at his team. It had only been a day since Percy had called, but he was already wishing for his presence. Despite his wishes, Canary was training them that day, so he couldn't mope in his room, waiting for the call.

{Kid Flash: fail}

"Good block, but did anyone see what he did wrong?" Canary asked.

Robin spoke up with a playful smirk. "Ooh! Ooh! He hit on teacher and got served?"

"Dude!"

"Oh, is this a bad time?"

Grinning, Kaldur turned to face the IM, ignoring his gawking teammates. "Hello, My Prince."

Percy's lopsided smile filled his vision. "Hey, Love."

Kaldur took in his appearance. The demigod had several bruises and cuts, which shouldn't be possible with his Mark of Achilles. He wore a purple praetor's cape and battle armor. "You made praetor?"

"They raised me on their shields after the battle. I tried protesting, as Jason isn't dead, but they weren't having it. Is this your team?"

"Battle?"

"Prince?"

"Love?"

Kaldur winced at the sudden outburst of questions that followed his betrothed mentioning the team. "Yes, My Prince."

"Kal, how many times do I have to ask you not to call me that?" Percy asked with a small frown. "Anyways, should I call back later to give you that debrief or what?"

Kaldur frowned thoughtfully and turned to Canary. "Canary, would you mind if I sit this training session out so I can speak with my prince?"

Canary smirked. "Only if you can take me down."

Kaldur heard Percy chuckle. "Go easy on her, Kal. We don't want any dead songbirds. Dad would have a fit."

Kaldur shrugged and got into a fighting stance. "Your father would not care if I killed someone," he said casually.

"No, but Orin would. Isn't that one of your rules for the mission? No killing?"

Kaldur sighed. "The Justice League has rules."

Canary struck, clearly hoping to catch Kaldur off guard while he spoke to his betrothed, but he was ready for it. He blocked and struck back.

"You fight differently in the surface," Percy commented. "I suppose that's necessary. It's not like you can swim around someone in the air."

Kaldur dropped and swept his feet around, aiming to trip Canary. She jumped and he kicked her while she was airborne, causing her to fall backwards onto the platform.

{Black Canary: fail}

He rose up and began to leave when a call came over the hologram screen. "Batman to the Cave."

Percy smirked and Kaldur stepped in front of the IM so Batman couldn't see it.

"Five hours ago, a new menace attacked Green Arrow and Black Canary. The attacker was capable of studying then duplicating the powers and abilities of its opponents. Arrow called in reinforcements, which nearly proved disastrous, as our foe gained more and more powerful with each new combatant."

"Whoa," Kid Flash murmured. "One guy with the powers of the entire League?"

Batman continued, "In the end, it took eight Leaguers four hours to defeat and dismantle the android."

"An android?" Robin said thoughtfully. "Who made it? T.O. Morrow?"

"Good guess, Robin," Batman said, causing Robin to look proud and Superboy to glare at him, "but no. We believe it was Professor Ivo."
