Chapter 14: Tears and Trust

Previously on The Ace of Spades:

"Now if you'll excuse me," Y/n addressed the others. "I must get Fuegoleon and Leopold to the infirmary."

She bowed before standing up walking over to the Vermillion brothers, using her magic to gently lift the two brothers before walking back toward the castle

As she walked, she looked down at the two of them

'Please be okay'

As Y/n walked, the sun began to sink closer to the horizon. What an eventful day today was

First Marx complained about how she was taking too long this morning while Julius and Y/n teased him.

The Y/n went to the Distinguished Service Ceremony where she climbed the ranks and became an Intermediate Magic Knight 1st Class (WHAT?!)

Then Julius held a banquet for everyone apart of the ceremony including Asta, Yuno, Noelle, Mimosa and Klaus

Then things got heated and Nebra and Solid started picking on Noelle again and Y/n slapped the two of them

Then, Y/n basically scolded all of the upper ranked magic knights, all of them older than she is and they listened (kinda)

Then, an attack happened on the castle town by The Eye of the Midnight Sun and the Magic Knights were split into groups to go and protect the citizens

Then some kind of spacial magic forced Y/n and some other magic knight to an area outside of the capital. Which forced the magic knights to work together (albeit reluctantly) to get back

While that happened, Nozel tried to get back on Y/n good side, which didn't really work for the older male.

When they made it back, they were met with a horrifying sight. Captain Fuegoleon was laying face down, MISSING AN ARM!

Leopold and Asta weren't in good shape either. Y/n had rushed over to Fuegoleon's side and used one of her healing spells to help the oldest Vermillion brother as best as she could

Then Asta was captured by The Eye of the Midnight Sun and taked away

Now Y/n was on her way to the infirmary in the castle, gently carrying the Vermillion Brothers by her side.

God she hoped they were going to be alright. Fuegoleon lost an arm for goodness sake! Y/n was going to get revenge for hurting one of the magic knights, especially Fuegoleon, who has treated her with respect since they met, unlike some of the other magic knights.

Once Y/n arrived at the infirmary she pushed open the doors and all the nurses and doctor's faces were horrified

"What happened?!" One of the nurses rushed over

"The castle town was attacked. I don't know how Captain Fuegoleon lost his arm though," Y/n said, trying to stay confident and not let her fear show
