"Grandma I'm home" spoke Ayano out loud as she entered the home, looking around for the old woman. Walking into the kitchen she saw her preparing some tasty treats for Ayano "Ah! you nearly gave me a heart attack there youngling!" she makes her iconic granny laugh "I made you some Takoyakis, how was school today?" Ayano looks at the delicious snack in front of her, she couldn't help but sit down and munch on one "Same as usual, any word from dad and mom?" the granny sighs as she sits down at the table with her "Your mother didn't contacted me yet this week... they'll be back soon I promise".

It's been quite the while since Ayano last heard from her parents, she didn't exactly knew how to feel about her parents lying into her face... they said she'd be spending only a week with her grandma, but a week slowly turned into two weeks... three weeks... a month... two months... before finally getting a call from Ryoba saying that the business trip unfortunately had to be extended for reasons Ryoba didn't want to speak of. Currently it has been two whole years and they have yet to come home to see Ayano well and sound.

But that doesn't mean they completely abandoned Ayano, far from it, her parents usually reach out for her once or twice per week "You miss them dear?" asked the grandma as Ayano silently stared at her treats "Grandma, can I go outside for a walk?" a little bit confused by her sudden request, she was still willing to grant it "Sure... don't venture too far young one, if something happens to you your mama won't give me a kind time!" not saying anything she drops the schoolbag next to the chair before walking outside.

Looking at people in the streets together with their family Ayano didn't exactly felt comfortable seeing them, she can't exactly put her finger on it but she certainly hates it. Sitting on a bench by herself she began to ponder about her life "I'm fourteen, it's my final school year, what do I want to do with my life? how do I tell mom and dad that I am not sure what high school to pick? if they come home that is" as she was swinging her little legs back and forth further debating on the problem, a man walked up to her.

"Hey sweetheart, whatcha doing here by yourself?" the man was in his early fifties as his big moustache had a faint shade of gray, Ayano stared at the man without any sort of expression, keeping silent "Are you lost? I can offer you a ride home" slightly tilting her head she rose up on her feet, putting on a concerned emotion on her face "Mister, what is that?" she points out something behind the man as he turns around to check "Hm? there's nothing over there-" hearing running footsteps the man turns back, only to see Ayano running away from him.

Ah her parents taught her well about stranger danger, she sensed the danger perfectly! surely it doesn't have to do anything with her sixth sense that her mother has due to being a yandere "Smart girl.." grunted the man behind his mustache as he didn't bothered to give chase after a naruto running Ayano. After such a wild encounter the little girl was now doing her remaining homework for the day, something she clearly hated doing "Granny" she spoke, as she set her pencil down, looking up at the older woman.

"What is it dear?" looking at the writing that was getting better and better everyday, Ayano struggled to find her words "Ayano? what's wrong dear? lately you haven't been yourself-" "They left me, didn't they?" she bluntly asked as a dreadful silence fell upon the room, only the clock's tongue clicking every second was emitting sound "...Ayano, we've been over this so many times already... I don't have the strength to repeat it once again after I did it for approximately 235 times, you should get to sleep" "But-" the grandma gave her a glare, which only made Ayano look down, going towards her room.

Three more weeks passes by and Ayano's final exam was getting closer and closer, something she was prepared for, only problem was not living up to her family's expectations, especially her father's, only she knows how much he struggled to make her happy when she was younger, the countless doctor visits Ayano experienced... witnessing the pure desperation of Jokichi and eventually breakdown, witnessing how for the first time ever he fought back with Ryoba.

Gulping down some pancakes for the morning breakfast, she was ready to leave... but Granny was quick to stop her from leaving "Where do you think you're going? today's Saturday! come back here young lady, this old lady has something to tell you" stopping herself mid way she completely forgot about time and space "What is it granny?" "We will be going on a small trip together, don't worry it will only last a day" nodding slightly she walked past her, thinking where they possibly could've go since the granny can barely walk long distances anymore.

Few hours later and the two arrive in front of a hospital, not really understanding what's the matter of the situation Ayano looks at her granny "Why are we here? are we going to check up on your health-" "AYANO!" getting into a defensive pose Ayano quickly turned around, but before she could even react she was brought into a big ol' hug... seems like she still has to work on those stats doesn't she? "Oh I missed you so much my little girl! oh who am I kidding look how much you've grown!" Ayano remained silent.. as usual... but she did wrap her arms around her father's neck "Welcome back".

Wiping his tears away he breaks the hug "I am so sorry for leaving you all alone in these two years... let's just say your mother and I got way too busy with work..." "It's okay, I got used to it" Jokichi knows she's lying, she might not show it because she literally can't but he knows deep down she missed them, that or she actually hates them and liked spending so much time with her crazy grandma "Why are we at a hospital?" Ayano finally asked, which made Jokichi to chuckle a little bit as he rubs his head.

Knowing she won't believe her father's words, Jokichi expected this kind of reaction out of Ayano, so that's why he's taking both her and the granny directly to the source "Mom? is it okay with you if Ayano enters first?" the man looked at granny, who obviously gave him glares, not because of the current situation, but because of her hatred towards him "...I'l take that as a yes... c'mon sweetheart... let's go" pushing Ayano from behind he was quick to close the door.

"Mom?" Ryoba slowly peeked her head upwards as a big smile formed on her lips, she was a complete mess... her hair was completely ruined as it was sticking out in all directions... her breath was rather quick, as if she was gasping for hair, and the exhausted expression in her eyes said it all "Ah Ayano... it's been quite a while since we last saw each other... come here honey" she extends one of her arms as in the other Ayano saw the towel she was holding.

Looking up at her father he only nods in silence, slightly pushing the teen girl from behind as she was quick to hug her mother "Mom and Dad got real busy in this trip... so Ayano... honey... I want you to meet our newest member of the family" Ryoba's lips formed into a bigger smile as Ayano silently watches her movements, the mom slowly pulled away some of the towel "Meet your baby brother... Fudoki Aishi" Ayano looks at him, and she couldn't help but feel like he's going to be only trouble for her in the future.

The two parents smile widely as they see the first sibling interaction ever "Oh you two will get along so well... would you like to hold him dear?" Ayano refuses by shaking her head "Okay okay, I guess you are too scared to drop him~" not soon after the granny made herself a guest to the party as everyone looked at her "Ryoba! my goodness! thank God you're okay!".

She walks up to Ryoba... only for pure disgust to enter her body "...A baby boy?" Granny said in disbelief, Ayano quickly walked up to her father "I need to go to the bathroom" whispered Ayano as she knew things were about to get ugly real fast, Jokichi slightly nods "Come on let's get it done fast... I don't want to leave your mother all alone with this crazy bi- I mean your grandma for too long".
