"Luffy! You be careful with her!" Nami called out from below.

"Don't worry! She'll be fine." Luffy reassures.

Without any warning, Luffy swiftly took hold of your hand, determined to show you the ropes of tree climbing. "Come on, (y/n)! You're moving so slow!"

"Well, it's not like I do this daily." You say.

"Just trust your footing, and use your upper body." He looks down at you.

You take a deep breath, feeling the strain in your muscles as you hoist yourself up. You couldn't help but let out a laugh. "I'm doing it!"

Luffy lets out a shriek of excitement but then stops when he sees you lost your footing.

"(y/n)! Grab on!" He stretched out his arm and latched onto you and hoisted you up so that you were sitting on the top branch.

"That was close." Luffy smiles at you.

As you take a breath, the salty ocean air fills your lungs, and you face the breathtaking view of the beach.

"Why are you so quiet?" Luffy asked.

"I'm just thinking." You say.

"You seem to do that all the time, why?" He asked.

You shrug. "It's all I do, sit and think."

You watched as Luffy reached for a nearby mango tree and picked a bright juicy mango. "It's no fun in that."

He takes a huge bite out of the mango before handing it to you. You couldn't help but chuckle as you took a bite from the mango and passed it back.

The two of you sat in the tree, the warm breeze rustling the leaves as you savored the juicy mango.

Luffy's voice filled your ears as he recounted another one of his thrilling adventures. Every time he told his stories, his voice would swell with enthusiasm, as if he were experiencing each moment again.

It always made you smile. He may have been young, but he carried the weight of a lifetime's worth of joy and sorrows.

"Wait, do you smell that?" Luffy stops mid-storytelling.

"Smell what?" You took a minute and then inhaled the scent of roasting meat.

"Sanji's cooking meat!" With a sudden burst of energy, Luffy sprang to his feet, leaving his spot in the tree behind.

"Hey! Wait up!" You called up.

You made your way down the tree, careful not to fall.

"(y/n)!"

You nearly jumped when you heard your name, and you quickly looked down.

"Usopp! Don't scare me like that. I'm trying not to fall and break something." You call down to him.

"Sorry 'bout that. Here, I'll catch you." You looked down as he held out his arms.

"I don't think that's a good idea." You say as you feel your arms growing tired from keeping yourself up.

"Do you trust me?" He asked.

With a nod, you gracefully leaped down from the tree, landing securely in Usopp's arms as he tumbled to the ground.

"Oh, my gosh! Are you okay?!" You asked as you sat up.

"Yep, I'm good." He reassures.

"When you said you'd catch me, I didn't think you'd break my fall." You laughed.

"Well, I got you down, didn't I?" He laughed.

He noticed his arms were still around your waist and hastily moved away, sitting up. "S-sorry?"

You smiled and helped him up.

"What were you doing up a tree, anyway?"

"Luffy was teaching me how to climb, but then he smelt meat and forgot about me." You laughed.

Usopp shook his head. "Classic Luffy."

"I get why you guys put up with him. He's like a little puppy." You smiled.

"Yeah, he stopped growing after the age of 8." Usopp says.

"You think if we make it, Luffy might save us some food?" You asked while grabbing a couple of mangos.

"There's only hope." Usopp jokes.

"Well, in that case, we can have Sanji grill some of these mangos."

"Are you sure you're not a cook or a chief of any kind?" Usopp turned to you and asked his question as you both strolled towards the beach.
