chapter 9: the resort and the CORE...

Y/N POV

After the slight fight with Mettaton, we then ended up to Mettatons resort, and Sans was there

Sans: hey, I heard you two going to the CORE. How about grabbing some dinner with me first?

Y/N: well I'm not hungry, Frisk are you hungry?

I then hear, frisks stomach grumbling, they blush in embarrassment, and nod

Y/N: okay then, I'll meet you at the CORE, later frisk

I then walk inside

A few moments later...

Frisk POV

After Y/N left, we went into an alleyway? Sans said he knew a shortcut, and to my surprise, when we arrived at the alleyway we suddenly teleported to the restaurant of the resort, we took a seat at a table

Sans: well, here we are. So your journeys almost over, with Y/N huh? You must really wanna go home. Hey. I know the feeling, buddo, though... Maybe sometimes it's better to take what's given to you. Down here you've already got food, drinks, friends like Y/N... Is what you have to do... Really worth it?

I then thought about it for a moment, I really want to go home, but at the same time... I also want to stay here

Sans:... Ah, forget it, I'm rootin' for ya, kid

He then turns around, before he turns to me again

Sans: hey. Let me tell you a story. So I'm a sentry in snowdin forest, like Y/N right? I sit out there and watch for humans, like Y/N, but it's kind of boring, fortunately, deep in the forest where Y/N's sentry station is... There's this HUGE locked door. And it's perfect for practicing knock knock jokes, and Y/N introduced me to it, so one day, Y/N wanted me to meet somebody, and I don't know who it was, we went to the HUGE door that was near Y/N's sentry station, and said" how about, practice a knock knock joke right now?" I was a bit curious on why he said that, but when I did I heard a woman's voice that said " who is there?" From the other side, so I naturally I respond:"dishes."dishes who?"
Dishes a very bad joke"then she just howls in laughter, like its the best joke she's heard in a hundred years, I then turn to Y/N, as if he already knew this lady

I then realize he was talking about goat mom, I was happy that she was laughing, and I finally got what Y/N meant about her being better

Sans: Y/N did leave us be, so I keep 'em coming, and she just keeps laughing, she's the best audience I've ever had. Then, after a dozen of em, SHE knocks and says... "Knock knock!" I say "who's there?" Old lady!" Old lady who?" Oh! I did no know you could yodel!" Wow. Needless to say, this woman was extremely good, we kept telling each other jokes for hours, eventually, I had to leave, papyrus gets kind of cranky without his bedtime story, but she told me to come by again, and so I did, than I did again and again, it's a thing now, and oh boy I was glad that Y/N introduced me to her, telling bad jokes through the door, it rules,

He then turns to the side, and then turns to me again

Sans:... One day, though I noticed she wasn't laughing very much, I asked her what was up, then she told me something strange" if a human ever comes through this door... Could you please, please promise something? Watch over them, and protect them, will you not?" Now, I hate making promises, and this woman, I don't even know her name, but... Someone who sincerely likes bad jokes... Has an integrity you can't say "no" to,

He once again turns to the side, and turns to me once again

Sans: do you get what I'm saying? That promise I made to her... she also said that she made her promise to Y/N as well... You know what would have happened if she hadn't said anything to me and Y/N?... Buddy.
