I just never knew I'd be falling

I had the world on my back and you didn’t even offer to take some weight
But that really was never your job, was it?
You didn’t come in and tidy me up
You came in to tell me it was there
But when I turned around
All I saw was my back

I know why you’re like the way you are
The demons lock your door at night.
They’ve started locking mine, too.
I know you’re trying to get better but I know what they do after hours
They do the same to me
I’ve gotten used to it
No more screaming, no more fighting
Just hoping you come in and save me

Ode to the wonders of my life
You were sunshine
Glowing and happy and spreading life wherever you went
You were a Disney princess with the way animals would walk up to you as if you were an old friend
You glowed, a light in the darkness
You, my anomaly, will never be forgotten within these words.
And you, you were like a moon beam.
The way the waves moved with you was astonishing
You were beautiful and gentle and surrounded in stars
I loved making constellations in your skin
You, my dear, will be forever
