Another Casey

Casey's POV:
I'm writing reports, before shift ends in an hour and a half, sitting in my seat in 81 when a girl covered in bruises walks in. I immediately jump out of the truck and walk over to her.
"Hey, are you okay?" I ask her
"Uh, I'm looking for Matthew Casey." She tells me
"That's me!" I respond
She gives me a piece of paper. I open it and read it. Some paperwork is attached. I tuck them in my pocket.

Mr Matthew Casey,
This is Jamie Lae Thomas. Your daughter as well as Hallie Thomas. We are giving her back to you. You gave her up when she was just 5. Please take care of her!

Mr and Mrs Walters.

I look up.
"Hey, Jamie." I whisper softly, "It's Daddy."
"Dad!" She tears up and wraps her arms around my neck, crying
"Hey honey." I kiss her head, "shhh! Shhh! Shhh!"
She swings her legs around my waist. I hoist her up a little. I pace softly in a circle. I see the whole house behind me.
"Holy sh-" I jump softly
"Ow!" Jamie exclaims
"Sorry baby." I kiss her head, "tell me what happened?"
She buries her head in my shoulder, "Mr Walter hurts me."
"Oh my gosh!" I sigh, "I'm gonna get some of my friends to make sure your okay."
She nods.
"Gabby, Sylvie." I call softly
They nod and I follow them to the Ambo. I place Jamie on the bed.
"Hey honey, what's your name?" Gabby asks
"Jamie Lae Thomas. Dad, sit with me?" She asks
"Yeah honeybun." I sit beside her on the gurney.
"Matt?" Gabby asks
"She's mine and Hallie's." I sigh softly.
She nods, "we'll talk later."
I nod. She gently prods against Jamie's stomach and chest. All of a sudden, Jamie starts seizing. I move off the bed.
"Pushing 2mg of Ativan!" Gabby exclaims as she injects it into Jamie's arm.
Jamie stops shaking but isn't moving. Gabby puts her fingers on Jamie's neck.
"No pulse, Brett, get her on the monitors!" Gabby orders, "Matt, step out for a moment."
"No, she's my daughter! I haven't seen her since she was 5!" I respond angrily as everyone stares.
"Get out Casey! We need space to work!" Gabby growls
I sigh and get out. Gabby does chest compressions. She stops.
"No pulse, charge to 100!" Gabby calls
"Charged!" Brett responds
Gabby shocks her, "Clear,"
Brett checks for pulse
"We've got sinus rhythm, let's get her on oxygen," Brett sighs
Gabby nods, "Matt, get in, we're going to med, Brett you drive."
"We'll meet you at med!" Boden calls.
Brett grabs the keys and jumps out. I jump in and hold Jamie's hand. The doors close. We drive off. Soon we get to med. Jamie is taken away. I pace the waiting room. Soon 51 comes in. I remember the paper in pocket. I get it out. It's papers of parental rights.
"Pen, anyone have a pen?" I ask as I turn around.
Boden hands me one. I sign the paper. I sigh and put it back in my pocket. I pass Boden his pen. Soon, Dr Halstead walks out.
"Family of Jamie Thomas?" He asks
"I'm her dad." I get up and walk over
"She's okay, she had a really bad Allergic reaction to the Ativan. She is epileptic. She is stable and awake. Two people in at a time." He tells us
I nod, "Gabs?"
She nods and gets up. We follow Dr Halstead inside. I see Jamie sitting up on a bed with a nasal cannula. We head in.
"Jay Jay!" I smile
"Daddy!" She smiles
"Hey baby." I sit on the bed beside you
She bursts into tears, "I'm sorry!"
"You have nothing to be sorry for." I wrap my arms around her.
She nods and I kiss her head, "is Gabby my mom? I can't remember her."
"Your mom died just before I gave you up. She's actually the reason. I uh, I was panicking and I didn't know that I could handle you. I'm sorry baby." I explain
She nods, "but can she be my new mom, cause I see rings on both of you and they are so similar."
"Yes, we are married. But It's up to gabby." I tell her
"I would love to be your mom." Gabby smiles
"Come sit!" Jamie wriggles over and gabby comes to sit down, "do I have any siblings?"
"We have an adopted son called Louie. He's three. And I'm 10 weeks pregnant with a new baby." Gabby smiles
"Yay! When can we go home?" Jamie asks
"Right now!" Halstead walks in
I smile as he disconnects Jamie and we walk out. I keep an arm around Gabby and Jamie. We head to the firehouse and collect our items before heading home. We get out and walk in.
"Mommy!" Louie runs to gabby!
"Hey Louie!" Gabby lifts the boy up, "were you good for miss L?"
He nods. Lena, his sitter, walks in.
"Thanks Lina." I hand her her pay.
"Who's this?" She asks, gesturing to Jamie
"This is my daughter Jamie. She's gonna live here now but will more than likely stay around the firehouse so you've still got the little man." I tell her
She smiles gently and leaves.
"And Louie, where's my hug buddy?" I chuckle at him.
"Hi daddy!" Louie hugs me, "who dis?"
"This is your sister, her name is Jamie!" I tell him
"Jabie!" Louie smiles
"Hey Louie," Jamie replies softly,
"Uh Jay, your in the spare room, end of the hall!" I tell her
She nods and walks down to there. I smile at my perfect family before cooking dinner and we all eat and go to bed.
