Rae's POV

"Rae, are you sure you can pick them up?" Demi asks getting ready for work as I lay in the bed watching her get ready loving the veiw.

"Yes, Demi, it won't take too long and I will keep you updated," I tell her.

My grandparents are flying in today and need a ride from the airport which I said I would handle because I am feeling even better now that it's been 3 weeks since the incident, but I have been having problems with my blood sugar this week despite eating properly. I haven't been having many attacks though so that is good. I also spent a day with Demi again this week in fact I took Sarge and Max. The kids love it when I bring the dogs and the dogs love going to the school.

Before you say anything negative about it I had an episode that morning that was pretty horrible. I felt I needed Max since he is my current working service dog who knows how to check my blood sugars and alert to it, whereas Sarge is strictly a PTSD dog so they were both there for good reasons.

I do sometimes take both when I need to but as you know Sarge doesn't enjoy going in public like he used to and that is understandable.

"I am just worried your blood sugar will bottom out and you won't be able to do anything about it." She says.

"Babe, Max will be with me and I will take some snacks with me but I have a feeling it's going to be a good day," I tell her. "I have a really good feeling about all of it, and if anything does happen I think it'll be ok, I feel it in my bones.

She looks at me before crawling across the bed to me and lays her head on my chest.

"You know I only worry so much because I love you, right?" She asks.

"Yeah, hun, I know but at some point you gonna give yourself a stroke, and then who will be there to worry?" I say smiling at her widely.

"I will still be there in spirit worrying about you all day and night, don't worry about that." She says before we lay silently for a few minutes.

Then she slowly gets up and heads out for the day.

Eventually, when both kids make their way to my room I head to the kitchen to start cooking breakfast, like usual, only this time Max comes up to me and licks my hands. I look down at him and he just stares at me. I sigh and check my blood sugar to see if it is low and sigh. I start eating as I cook.

When I finish I head upstairs to get the kids leading them to the table.

Around 10 I get the kids dressed and put them and Max in the car before driving off the go to the airport. I play a kid's song and listen as they sing along. When we get there they are already waiting outside so I just pull up and get out to help them.

I quickly take their bags before hugging them tightly.

I have missed them so much. It's been almost a year since I say them last but I talk to them regularly so being able to hug them makes me feel so much better.

"Where are my grandchildren." My grandmother says smiling with a hopeful look in her eyes.

"Grandma, I am your grandchild," I retort. "but they are in the car happy as ever to see you."

I open the back door and help her in and we Eli sees her he starts jumping in his seat.

"Grandma A!" He shouts and when my grandfather gets in the front seat he yells again. "Grandpa A!"

We call Dianna Nana and Eddie Papa and my grandparents Grandma and Grandpa A because that is just how it happened.

Elle looks at them in confusion as she was still young when they last saw her.
