In life, we don't meet people by accident. They are meant to cross paths with us for a reason. And a certain blue-eyed boy made me want to know why we met.
I woke up to the sound of a beat, one quite familiar.
The wall clock dinged three slow beats grabbing my attention. Three slow beats meant it was quarter to ten; and ten was the time Dollie's shop closed.
Considering I had just woke up, my mind was in a state of confusion. It's not usual for me to sleep here, in fact I never did. So why did I now? Maybe all it took was the comfort of someone else. Someone else like Louis.
Louis.
I snapped my head towards the blue-eyed boy, but winced due to the way I was sleeping. Louis on the other hand, was curled up in his chair, and looked snug. His head was rested on his little hands, so one cheek was smushed.
Shit.
The shop closed in fifteen minutes.
Which meant we had to leave in less than fifteen minutes, before Dollie got angry.
Fuck.
"Louis, wake up," I murmured - which sounded closer to a slur -, still in a daze from unconsciousness. Louis made a slight movement and lifted an arm up.
"Go away, babe," he groaned and waved his hand, "I don't want to get up yet."
He called me babe. He called me babe. Well, that's something new - but I'm sure he didn't really mean it, right? The name was just a slip-up, I'm sure of it. You can't just call anyone 'babe'. Even then, it made me smile.
I finally sat up from the chair Louis had set me down in a few hours ago. I ran a hand through my hair and sighed; we need to get going. All the weariness from my eyes was gone with a momentary rub and a few blinks. I yawned, however, because there was still a scant amount of exhaustion.
"Now it's your turn to get up, Louis." I huffed to myself.
-
Getting Louis up was not the easiest; he mumbled and grumbled about how comfy he was, shushed me a few times and told me he would get home fine by himself. I, on the other hand, shot back that he would be in deep shit if he didn't leave by ten - that got him up and awake.
So, after all that, we were casually walking through some park. I didn't quite know where even though Louis said it was the best place to be. Considering the weather was relatively cold, it was even better to be there. Nobody was there at the moment, which was a good thing.
"So what's your story, curls?"
Louis and I were side by side in silence as we sauntered over the park's path. Key word; were.
"My names Harry Styles - it's not Harold. I'm twenty-three and a cocky son of a bitch." All that came out of my mouth was seriousness.
And from the looks of it, Louis was dumbfounded.
"Well, alrighty then," he chuckled, "Got any siblings?"
"No, not that I know of. What about you?" I shot back.
Louis just shrugged - which I took as a no. We continued walking and enjoyed the company of each other. The silence was not awkward or uncomfortable at all; it was quite peaceful.
"Hey, Louis?" I called out.
"Yeah, Harry?" He looked up at me.
"Do you like icecream?" I raised an eyebrow and tilted my head.
"I love, love, love icecream!" Louis squealed and started jumping up and down. It was amusing to watch him and I couldn't help but let my walls down to laugh.
"Let's go get some, yeah?" I offered with a small grin, and he gladly accepted.
"It's not too cold for icecream?" Louis scratched his head with a frown.
"Never."
We slowly made our way to the icecream parlor that was a street away from the park. Well, Louis led the way since he was so enthusiastic and I sort of just followed behind; not that I was complaining or anything.
The two of us were a short distance away from the shop when a very feminine voice screeched my name.
"Look over there, it's prince Harry!"
A swarm of people came trotting towards us. They had cameras, bright lights and all sorts of devices. All I could hear was my name being shouted and yells about 'yet another person' with me.
Fuck this, I'm out.
"Louis, listen to me carefully," I demanded to the worried looking boy in front of me and he nodded.
"Take this paper," I spoke quickly and handed him a paper with my number scribbled in it, "Don't let these people coming towards us see you. Get home quick. Keep your head down, don't look up, and run as fast as you can back home."
Louis nodded his head; but looked scared and confused at the same time. He put the slip of paper in his pocket and started jogging, but suddenly stopped a couple feet away from me.
"See you soon, curls." He said without turning around, but I could hear the smile in his voice.
"Goodbye for now, Louis." I whispered.
The boy started running again and reality hit me when I saw the swarm of people getting even closer than before.
My legs pulled my weight away from the paparazzi, and in that moment, I was away with the wind.
